1996 was a decent year if I remember correctly.

Re: It feels like 1996 all over again. Reply #48 on: September 11, 2011, 12:36:21 PM
I was 14. Spent the first few months of the year sailing around the Caribbean with some family friends on their boat, then I moved to Catalunya that summer. A better year than 1995, but not as much fun as 1997.

Sorry about the late response, I was gone for much longer than I expected. Plus, I didnt expect more than a couple of people to remember me, or 1996. And yes.. It was a good year. (:

mosh "Memory is a funny thing... I think smilla showed for a short time a couple of years ago... but I might be wrong."
I did a little searching and it looks like she did resurface for a little bit. I emailed her right around the time I started this thread. I was going to Chicago for over a month and wanted to catch up. She responded but we never met up. I'll give her the new URL and we'll see.

Ineptunian "Weren't you Abby's stalker?"
No.. No.. lol Abby was very witty and cunning with words. She could easily see that my vocabulary was nothing more than grunts comparably. So she took great pleasure to pointing that out. I liked it. (:

And I remember both of you mosh and Ineptunian. Is there a link to a cache copy of a-s? Or is archive.org pretty much all there is left? I know I and Smilla had a few threads printed out for pure entertainment purposes. lol

Tru "Yep and that was a long time ago now. I wonder if my log in at Brawl Hall is still good. I don't think I ever registered at F4$.

I remember you as well Christopher R.

Went through a 7 year sober period, back to sucking them down again past two years. Been really bad this year but at least I'm not as idealistic as I once was and politics no longer interest me. What's the point?
Need to quit for a while though, at my age 4 forties a day is really taking a toll.

Smilla and I exchanged emails for quite a while, that to was a long time ago."

At the time I was on A-S, I was nothing nothing but a child. So I didn't grasp or understand many of the things that were going on during that time. Including alcohol. After a-s, I spent roughly 7 years in New Orleans. I am now well versed. You should email Smilla again. I think she would like to hear from you.

banal "I sure as fuck dont remember a T at the end of the name."
I do. I had two accounts. One with a "T" at the end and one without. I'm sure I did end up using one, a lot more than the other. But I posted under both.

Tru "Really, I didn't see it that way and I was there from the beginning. But wtf does it matter now.

Like I said I never registered at F4$, don't know who was there but I spent a good deal of time at Brawl Hall back in the day.

Seems like they had a far more established clientele. Many posters, Brawl Hall could not have arisen as a result of R1 alone.

Sorry but it obviously existed pre R1."

I believe I came and was gone, long before this happened. When I was around, A-S was just starting to dabble into conflicts with other communities. I remember one you guys tortured something brilliantly... A few of them came over to respond and ended up loving A-S and staying. Others just got embarrassed on both sites.

Anyone up for a brief summary of wtf happened? And more importantly.. Why do you all sound like you're trading old stories, instead of creating new ones? That's one of the things I loved about A-S. You never knew what would happen next.

I arrived at A-S just as all the invasions were going on, I think. I remember attacks on methodists, jews, and car jocks, off the top of my head.

I've literally gone through over a half dozen PC's since those days and as many email addresses, most of which are now defunct. I wouldn't mind corresponding with Rachel again but I don't have a clue what her email would be these days. Dam sure isn't going to be smilla@anti-social.com

Ahh, this brings back memories

Nope. I specifically remember Abby calling you a creepy, stalker fuck.

Does anyone remember what happened to the spunk-stained, shit-smeared briefs that I sent him through the mail? I wonder if they are cult collectibles by now.

I haven't thought about Abby in a while.  I used to go to a goth night in Philly and thought I saw a guy that looked a lot like her husband there, but I could be wrong because I only saw a half dozen pictures years ago.
