They poke me all the time and sometimes I yell at them, my big boy almost put my eye out once but I would never do this to them.

If you don't like cats then just fuck off and die.

Don't really care about cats, they're just there I guess.
Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

Re: The Paw Project Reply #3 on: August 06, 2014, 02:29:51 PM
Yeah. I don't love or dislike them. Kittens are cute and funny, but then they grow up and meh. I did grow up with cats, and I loved them just like I loved my dogs. But I'd never intentionally have a cat again, I don't think.

They are no worse or more destructive than those little dogs. Just a lot quieter.

Cats are fine, they're just not as affectionate as dogs.

I don't like most dogs. I'm a houseplant kind of person.

Re: The Paw Project Reply #10 on: August 17, 2014, 09:39:35 AM
I've always been a dog person and I love my dogs, but now that I'm a parent I just have so much less time for them. I still take good care of them, walk them, etc, but my priorities have definitely shifted. Mojo is 12 now, and thankfully still in great shape, but realistically he's not gonna live for another decade. When he does go, I'll be horribly sad (god, not to mention how my son will feel about it - that'll be fun.) but I won't be in a hurry to get another dog. Lemmy's still young, and hopefully dumb enough that he'll forget Mojo relatively quickly and enjoy not sharing attention.

Fucking hell, what a fucking downer of a post.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, most of my cats are very affectionate.
At least two of them even like to play fetch and will often bring me their toys and beg me to throw them.

It's odd to me that I taught the cat tricks, yet, the dog just watches her and can't do 'em yet ...

Re: The Paw Project Reply #15 on: August 19, 2014, 03:28:52 PM
Most of us, anyone who was ever allowed to play in the dirt, had that as children and are now immune.

(it isn't just from cats)

For the vast majority of people exposed they never even realize it. For a few it manifests as mild flu like symptoms that last up to a couple weeks then go away. Then they are also immune. The only problem is with pregnant women because it can harm unborn fetuses and possibly people with aids who have very weak immune systems.

Nothing for normal healthy people to worry about.

I did get a really bad infection in my collar bone (bone infection) from a claw puncture once. That was the only time I've ever had an infection from cat punctures or scratches.

Hey ya know what else is interesting? When I start trying to sing they think something is wrong with me and they all come to see what is up.

I noticed this many times in the past but I have been doing Rodger Millers King of the road  for the past couple of days trying to learn the lyrics and it drives them crazy.

Ive also noticed that when I have health problems they will come to me and offer whatever support they can.

I don't think this is much different from what dogs do for people.

There is one difference between cats and dogs, dogs are pretty easy to make friends with, cats require more time and commitment to gain their trust.

Re: The Paw Project Reply #24 on: August 21, 2014, 09:33:49 PM
Yeah but Bootsie is likely from a long line of kept cats.
While all of my babies are rescues from feral colonies.

What their mother imprints on them when babies is sometimes hard to overcome. Sometimes impossible.

Cats btw are considered the only animal to have domesticated themselves. Takes a bit of intelligence to make that leap.
