How do you stop a bad habit? There is this one thing that I do that I just can't stop doing. I even went 2 months without doing it and then I started up again.

Everytime I want to do, should I bite myself really hard or flick my wrist with a rubber band or something? Advice please!

Stop hanging around the edges of the playground, for a start.

We know how it is, how it makes you feel so good to Take another living thing.

We know how being Woman, larger targets might be too risky, how you might not even be able to get your hands around their necks.

But they are just children, dear girl, and one should not pluck the Fruit not yet ripened.

Maybe you should consider volunteering your... services at a hospice?
It's truly a shame I am no longer there to yell at girls to make out with you.

I still have yet to see the sequel by which I don't mean Mallrats.
I gave up on Kevin Smith after Jersey Girl. Ironically I kinda want to see that again.

There is no excuse ever to watch any Kevin Smith movie.

Clerks is pretty funny, if you're 19 years old, drunk on cheap vodka you bribed your older sister for, flopped out on a broken futon with couple of pot heads.

Beyond that Kevin Smith's work is over-rated, vapid, smarmy tripe targeted towards illiterati and other arrested adolescents.

The fact that he has been arbitrarily deemed cool by the masses of mediocrity does not in actuality transmute his shite into gold.

This is a man who has stated that Donnie Darko was written on too high a level for him to fully comprehend.

Donnie.
Fucking.
Darko.

Let's look at it in context. What other comedies came out the same year as Clerks? The Mask. Ace Ventura. Dumb and Dumber... Yeah I'd say Clerks could genuinely be considered comedic gold by those standards even if you weren't drunk on cheap vodka. I suppose in a grand sense maybe Kevin Smith isn't the funniest guy in the world, but he walks to the beat of a different drum and I think it's only when he tries to be all Hollywood that he starts to actually suck. At lowest I'd rate him a score of "meh".

Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

So, to stop my bad habit, I have to watch Kevin Smith movies?
you treat me like a monologue ho

Re: Stopping a bad habit Reply #21 on: February 28, 2009, 10:23:23 AM
You have to watch Kevin Smith movies and complain the entire time about what a tool Kevin Smith is.

I love Clerks, Clerks 2 wasn't quite as good but still worth a watch. Mostly for Rosario Dawson.

Mallrats was pretty good, Dogma was great, and J&SBSB was fucking hilarious. "An Orang-Utan... the most dangerous animal known to man..."

I even liked Jersey Girl, somewhat.

But what the fuck was up with Chasing Amy? What a fucking piece of shit that movie was.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.

Re: Stopping a bad habit Reply #25 on: February 28, 2009, 06:43:38 PM
See Chasing Amy is my favourite Kevin Smith movie, or at least the first half of it is. I never watch the second half of it now.

Hooper X should have got his own movie.

Re: Stopping a bad habit Reply #26 on: February 28, 2009, 09:06:07 PM
My favorite Kevin Smith movie is by far the underrated classic "Brook's Bad Habit"

I haven't seen Jersey Girl, but I agree with the rest

For the most part, I like Kevin Smith's movies.  But there is almost always the "slow gay" scene that I find almost unwatchable.  Like them sitting in the cell in Clerks 2.  I hated that part.  I think Chasing Amy was that one scene I don't like stretched to the length of a feature film.

The only thing that I've found to be successful is some kind of support group.  People you can call that aren't involved, but that will give you advice.  Even then, it's easy to slip up.

The problem with the other things you recommended would be forming a mental connection between biting/rubber banding and your bad habit.  You could end up needing to then flick a rubber band before participating in your bad habit to get the same feeling that you got before.

Finally, I'll assume you're talking about daydreaming about bagman.
Like yours.  Only different.
