If I go without blowing for two weeks, without fail I will wake up with my boxers stuck to my leg. Some sort of automatic expulsion time limit.
Was 'blowing' really the word you were looking for? Nevermind, of course it was...

Tulip came home and the gate was open, Angus and Murdoch were gone. I went to the animal control office but they close at 2:30. Worried about the boys...

Also, giving serious thought to killing my stepson. He throws them outside when he doesn't want to deal with them. I wonder if I can claim temporary insanity...

You should buy him a dogloo & make him sleep outside.

Re: My dogs are missing Reply #3 on: October 28, 2009, 06:06:04 PM
So they went for a little stroll down the highway to the mall, Murdoch narrowly missed getting killed by a truck and the people selling pumpkins and gourds in the mall parking lot nabbed them and tied them up. Only about a mile away. Murdoch had to have incited this and Angus was just along to protect him. The gate has been open for days before Murdoch came along and Angus wouldn't have thought to leave the yard. Little shithead...

Chain and padlock on the gate. No more adventures...

I could stab him with a jeweled dagger and blame it on the Sikhs who live on the next block. He's been eyeing their daughter after all...

Maybe you should leave the front door open and see if you can lose the stepson now.

Re: My dogs are missing Reply #11 on: October 28, 2009, 06:42:41 PM
Shit. He couch surfs for 100 bones a month. Eats a weeks worth of bagels in 36 hours. Plays video games until dawn, barks like a bitch if anyone makes noise, is a true master of emptying a water heater, is ALWAYS in the can when I have three beers in the chamber, and can't take the trash out without fucking it up. You know, an irritating loser.

OTOH he does drink makers, keeps some around all the time, has a job, pays his rent on time, and goes to school.

Maybe not so bad...

I'd have to give up Arthur if I went out to SoCal.  Either that, or live in the boondocks and drive 2 hours to work every day.

I'm glad Angus! is back; you're probably right, he was just along for the ride.  "Hey, where are we going?  Hey, isn't the food back that way?  Why are we walking away from where the food and food-people are?  Oh, look, a squirrel!"
Like yours.  Only different.

If I were to live in the States, I'd most likely live in California or Washington. I guess Oregon would do too, and possibly Nevada for the job market. No offense, Dave, but you wouldn't catch me dead living anywhere in Florida or most of the South.

on topic: For some reason I've never been a dog person. Maybe it comes from doing a paper-run as a kid.

Maybe one day when I live somewhere in the country I'll get a dog and that will change.

Re: My dogs are missing Reply #28 on: October 29, 2009, 09:11:03 PM
When you live apart from dogs for a while you lose your dog-person nature. After one of our dogs died my parents took like 5 years to get another. In that 5-year intermediate period I was amazed at how much I forgot about what dogs are like. I started getting skittish about them. It was ridiculous. I practically demanded that we get one so I could re-train myself. I'm cool now.

Re: My dogs are missing Reply #29 on: October 29, 2009, 09:41:01 PM
It's true. Even not having a puppy to train for a year or three and you forget what a pain in the ass they can be. But as they mature you have a friend forever.
