I've been doing the same on my board but it is really close to being dead.
I only have like two regular posters now, even though all the others at times have expressed interest that the board should continue.
Yet even with email pleas the old regulars fail to post. At one time I had over a dozen posters that all interacted. Now nobody seems interested.
It's not that the ideas being presented are irreverent or irrelevant , but people just don't seem to have the time.

#4 would be interesting to me. I have a patch of Psoriasis on both legs. I used to have it in my scalp but that has pretty much gone away on it's own. The medications prescribed for it are pretty useless.
It starts when you get a scrape or injury to the skin, it never heals.
It's not contagious though, it's a genetic failure that basically shows up when you get older. It's actually related to skin cancer where the skin cells reproduce abnormally and cause irritation but isn't the same as ... it isn't a situation that could become fatal. It does crash your self esteem though.

I agree with the law on this one. Homeless people should not be fed like this in public parks! If the old man wants to set up a shelter or can convince a church or individual to allocate their property for this then the mayor and police would have no say over it.
However I also agree that if homeless people have no recourse then shoplifting and other crimes will go up. But instead of local parks he should add his resources to an already established facility or location for this purpose.

I've lost a lot of teeth over the years but still have a few. My sister had all hers pulled and full dentures fitted the year before she died. A Bit strange to see super white perfect teeth in an old mouth. Both my parents had dentures. I really have to wonder how they paid for them back in the day without any insurance. Goddamn you. I started watching that Elisa Lam elevator video because something was bugging the shit out of me about it, and finally I realized what it was and it freaked me right the fuck out. That elevator door never even tries to close until after she leaves, then it opens and closes over and over again. It is spooky as shit and freaking me the fuck out.
Though after obsessing over it for a couple hours I think I not only have I explained it, but i think I've solved the case. At least to the point that I can be sane again and forget about that goddamn haunted non-fucking-closing door. I'll cut and paste the irc transcript where I presented my case to a couple of bisexual canadian women friends of mine who are pretty damn smart and I wanted their opinion on my theory.
<Fuse> Ok yes, that's it. She steps onto the elevator, presses a button, and the door doesn't close. she looks outside to see if someone's pressing the button messing with her, but no one's there, so she steps outside, steps back in and back and forth wondering if it's her weight and the elevator has a weight sensor, but no, still no door close, she presses more buttons to see if she didn't press something right, steps back outside and, joking with herself about the strange situation, waves her hands around saying "Close....SESAME!" or some such then finally leaves realizing the elevator is not going to work. Then the door starts opening and closing after she's gone.
<Fuse> All caused by the fact that the sensor in the elevator door is shorting out and registering that someone is holding it back with their hand when they're not
<Fuse> Doesn't explain why she's found dead in the water tank, but it explains the weird shit in the video

<Fuse> She's up there for a day or two, stuck waiting for someone to notice she's gone, and gets dehydrated. She realizes the only way she's gonna get any water is from one of those water tanks, and fearing that either her wet clothing will endanger her or just not wanting to swim in wet clothes, she strips, opens the hatch, and climbs in to get water, and the hatch falls closed behind her, trapping her in there. Or even if it didn't fall closed (don't know atm), the water level may have been too low for her to climb out.
<Fuse> So after a day or so of floating, she gets tired and tries to sleep while floating on her back, which not everyone can do. She sinks while asleep, breathes in a little bit of water, suddenly awakens choking on water and panicks, taking in more water and drowning quickly.

The mother's ghost is on the elevator while it malfunctions and the door won't close.
Elisa Lam died in 2013, and that film was made in 2005.

Where they really went wrong is when they abandoned the entire concept of the store from the beginning of supplying basic electronic components for hobbyists and DIY'ers and decided trying to sell their overpriced consumer electronics as top of the line instead. This was far from reality. They could never compete in quality or performance in the open market. Their name brand stuff soon became a joke among the majority of consumers.
I have bought a few components from there over the past couple months but their selection is extremely limited and the prices pretty high. I have been a customer for many decades (since back when tubes were prevalent) but I think this may be the last go round for them.

I took two courses in archery in Jr college. I got solid B's in both classes but I was often distracted by the women needing help. LOL. (it was a long time ago)
I have an old wooden 60 lb Ben Pearson long bow.
I never practiced speed shooting but I have always put the arrow on the right side and cradled it with my thumb.
The old bow has no rest, just a leather wrap so supporting the arrow with the left thumb makes sense.
Grip looks much like this. It may have originally been called "the deer slayer" but I can't confirm this.

While I never made points with the instructor on style I did a fair job of hitting the bulls eye.

Yeah this bow was already old when I was young.
Nothing like a modern bow.
But still effective if you can pull it back and hold it until release.
This is where the modern bows shine, with their cams and such you can have a 150 pound draw but only a 25 pound hold.
Once it is pulled back it is easy to hold.

Hey Phaedrus you may have noticed I talked up the benefits of modern bows, but in reality you could never do that type of shooting with a modern cam bow. They are great at throwing arrows at max speed but when pulling them back they go through cycles.
If you notice in the video this guy has a shorter version of my bow. All the cams and rigmarole are great for power shots but a plain old bow will never fail and is the only way to do speed shooting like this guy does.
Thing is you have to be strong enough to pull it back until you are ready to send it.

I had one of those Mattel Shootin Shell pistols as a kid, it wasn't new but whatever. It fired spring loaded "bullets" that snapped together and if you paid for the greenie stickem caps, cap gun action as well. They could barely make it across the room and were in no way dangerous.
