Unfortunately that is not going to work, and not because I won't do it. I leave Austin at 6:45am on 10/31 and am traveling the rest of the day. So no time to play dress up or stop by a crowded bar.
But... if I do this for say the evening of 10/30 instead, I want more than just making out since it won't even be Halloween when I do it. I want making out with at least one boob from each of the ladies showing.

Get one that writes directly to DVD. It's very convenient. I think we have a JVC palmcorder that is pretty sweet, I think it was about $400.

1) Do you want to be able to record video in HD resolutions (ie - up to 1920x1080)?
2) Do you want to be able to record video in outdoor, indoor, and/or low-light (ie - bar) conditions? Any of those you would give up, for a good deal?
3) Are there any brands in Japan which have a social stigma attached to them?

I like the look of the Sanyo's Xacti VPC-HD2000; you'd need to purchase an additional memory card, but it should be less than $100 for 32 GB storage. Its downside is that it apparently struggles in dark areas, but that could be video geeks being picky, since there's some argument out there around settings being able to compensate. 1080P video, though.
The VPC-WH1 is waterproof, and looks more like a traditional vidcam. Again, feedback is that it needs good light, but I wonder if that's a valid tradeoff for being $300 and incapable of beer destruction? 30X optical zoom, to really maximize the creepy across-the-street shots.
Sanyo's VPC-CA9 is kind of a weird amalgam of the two. looks like it uses the same CCD as the WH1, but in a form factor like the HD2000. Maxes out @ 720P/30 for resolution, which is pretty okay for our needs I imagine.
I don't know why I'm all over Sanyo right now. I just don't really dig on the new vidcams from other manufacturers.

I made this collar for Halloween, but then realized that I'd have to make a whole dress to make it work. So instead of wearing it for Halloween I wore it to the liquor store, then the bar, and finally to an after party last week.
