Title: Baltimore Day Trip
Post by: The Geek on April 13, 2009, 12:15:43 PM
Im thinking about taking a ride down to Baltimore on Friday with the boyfriend. Outside of Fort McHenry and the Aquarium what else is there to do? Places to eat? Zooms, wanna meet up for dinner? I should call chitownoi, too.

Any really good historical museums?

Outside of McHenry and maybe the warships at the inner harbor, the good historicals are in DC. Baltimore sucks.

Fish and chips at J. Patricks?

Get some KFC.

Entertain a cab driver.

(Don't forget your strangling gloves.)

Man, that was a really fun trip. Remember how we got all that extra KFC because the place was being run by a bunch of mongoloids?

That's any KFC within 150 miles of Baltimore, in my experience.

I don't even remember how we got all that food, or who was even there, or... a lot of things, really.

I recall seeing an amazing-looking redhead at a kissing booth surprising the hell out of some doofus by completely giving him a hundred-times his money's worth, and holding the Geek hostage, and something about Michael Fox's sitcom father and a nervous cabby glimpsed from the corner of my eye, and waking up on the floor with food in my ear.

Sure. I DO have off one of these thursdays coming up, let me get back to work after the holiday and tell you which one it is, boy can be off too. You can play 20 questions with him, scare him a little. Don't worry, he already knows his nick name and likes it.

Always work related, my dear.

Krsna - I'm sure his friends have heard the songs of his epic bravery. In fact, his roommates told us on many occasions to be quiet.

I like the Museum of Industry.

Baltimore also has several good art museums.  The Baltimore Museum of Art near Johns Hopkins is really good.  The Walters art muesum & Visionary Arts museum are pretty good, too.  And there's a Contemporary art museum.

There's the Poe House & Museum.  And there's the USS Constellation + some other boats in the harbor set up as muesums near the aquarium.

Geppi's Entertainment museum is pretty good.

And there's the Baltimore Tattoo Muesum if you're interested in that stuff.  They had a lot of classic images + a variety of historical tattoo guns.

There's a decent public works museum but I think it's closed for renovations right now.

There's probably some other stuff I'm not thinking of right now.

I think there's a lot of quality things to see in Baltimore.  The big difference between Baltimore & DC is that most of the museums in DC are free, whereas almost every place in Baltimore has at least a "suggested donation."

Yeah.  It's lame as shit.  I'm working out every day, losing weight, finally winning every now and then in jiu jitsu...and there goes the gall bladder.

Bu you can still hike and drink and fight and fall and break your leg and do all the cool shit without it, right?

No great loss then.

Yeah.  Just not for 4 weeks.

And I'll pass on breaking anything else!
