Yeah, morphine comes from opium. Its actually perfectly legal to grow poppies in the States. You can harvest them by cutting slits in the bulb once they're ripe and make tea. Bulbs cut that way ARE illegal on the other hand... Haven't tried it yet. I had a poppie garden in Austin, but it died when I left. Maybe try again in the spring.

Be careful ~ only certain types of poppy are considered Opium poppies ~ Papaver somniferum.

Amazingly enough, you can get the seeds pretty easily:

i read some articles where the alphabet boys took down old ladies papaversomniferums xD


i've actually looked into this, and recently found you can buy seeds online.
but its better for me not to finish this idea out...i'd definetly get addicted to ope.

and any simple by-products.
