My sister is very thoughtful in her gift giving and this Christmas tried to get me some metal gifts.  Not only did she give me the second Dethklok album, but she got me probably the most metal gift ever:

I've never tried mead before and this stuff looks pretty quality.  I've still yet to try it though because I might save it for a special occasion (I think it might be the perfect thing for New Years).

It's not bad. I've had VB in the bar for a couple years. Probably gone bad. Its just a mead, nothing really special. Meads are kind of an acquired taste. Hibiscus and hops don't go well together. Rosemary and peppermint are a better combo.

Immortal is awesome. One of my favorite albums is Sons of Northern Darkness.

They aren't BAD, but when compared to the plethora of BM bands that are superior them I have to come to the conclusion that they aren't even worth listening to.

I much prefer real ale to mead.

Oh and I like how on the bottle it says, "Based on a recipe from about 1700." About 1700. Like, you know, roughly 1700. Give or take. A hundred or two years. Or more, maybe. Actually, to be honest, we just mixed up some shit that we think might taste like you might think mead should taste, maybe? Anyway. Drink this shit.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.

Metal in theory, but how is hibiscus in an approximate 1700 Viking brew? Doesn't quite match up.
