Hulu - Paramore: That's What You Get

She reminds me of TrickyBrook
I hope Brook is doing well, and the unnamed one as well.

The Living Years from Mike & The Mechanics

Every generation, blames the one before
And all of their frustrations, come beating on your door
I know that I'm a prisoner to all my father held so dear
I know that I'm a hostage to all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him, in the living years

Woh-oh, crumpled bits of paper-er, filled with imperfect thou-oughts
Stilted conversations, I'm afraid that's all we've go-o-ot
You say you just don't see it, he says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement, in this present te-ense
We all talk a different langua-age, talking in defe-e-ence

(Say it loud) say it lou-ou-oud, (say it clear) woh-oh say it clear-ear
(You can listen as well as you hear) as well as you hear-ear-ear
(It's too late) it's too la-ate (when we die) woh-oh when we die-ie
(To admit we don't see eye to eye) we don't see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel, between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the futur-ure, it's the bitterness that la-asts
So don't yield to the fortunes you sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective on a different day-ay
And if you don't give up, and don't give in you may just be okay-ay

So say it, say it say it lou-ou-oud, (say it loud, say it clear) oh-oh say it clear-ear
(You can listen as well as you hear) as we-ell as you hear-ear-ear
Because it's too la-ate (it's too late) it's too la-ate (when we die)
Woh-oh when we die-ie-ie (to admit we don't see eye to eye) we don't see eye to eye-eye-eye

I wasn't there that morning, when my father passed away-ay
I didn't get to tell hi-im all the things I had to say-ay
I think I caught his spirit later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo in my baby's new born tear-ears
I just wish I could have told hi-im in the living years

So say it, say it, say it lou-ou-oud (say it loud, say it clear), oh-oh say it clear-ear
(You can listen as well as you hear) as we-ell as you hear-ear-ear
(It's too late) It's too la-a-ate, (when we die) it's too late when we die
(To admit we don't see eye to eye) we don't see-ee eye to eye-eye-eye
Hey, so say it, say it, say it loud (say it loud) say it loud (say it clear) come on say it clear
(Say it loud) don't give up, don't give in and do not wait 'til it's too late (fade)

Don't Gorillaz concerts consist of someone hitting 'play'?

It's funny, all I knew about Paramore until recently was that they were one of the emo bands I avoided at Warped Tour in '07. Now all I know is that they're an emo band I can avoid everywhere.

I like their music but I don't like them.

However I do like that they're christian. I have one of their CDs and all the members thanked Jesus first, which was quite sweet.

Re: Gorillaz Reply #14 on: September 20, 2010, 05:10:14 PM
I now like them even less.

Re: Gorillaz Reply #15 on: September 20, 2010, 05:24:57 PM
yes because youre open minded and like all open minded people you think all religion is bad/wrong. etc etc.

Re: Gorillaz Reply #16 on: September 20, 2010, 06:35:51 PM
I dunno that I've ever claimed to be open-minded, but mostly I just find religion silly and misguided. I also think that thanking jesus for their album is straight up fucking retarded. I'm so sick of hearing people thank god or whoever for their achievements, like there's some mystical fuck sitting around playing favourites. But in any case, yes, knowing that a band I already don't like is religiously affiliated makes me like them even less, for two reasons: first, most religious music is fucking TERRIBLE, and second because I hate getting preached at.

Re: Gorillaz Reply #19 on: September 21, 2010, 01:01:05 PM
If you think that is how they think God helped them then.. well i'm speechless.

And saying thank you to someone is not preaching.
...And I hate being preached at about religion (or anything really..) anyway.

Re: Gorillaz Reply #20 on: September 21, 2010, 01:29:31 PM
Music is my religion.

There's nothing wrong with religion. It's extremism that needs to be crushed. And lately only Nazis and Christians burn books. Funny that.

Re: Gorillaz Reply #23 on: September 21, 2010, 10:15:17 PM
Music is a great vehicle to be pro or anti just about anything, be it war, religion, love, money.. whatever. It's hard to get into liking/hating a song based on the singers beliefs, there are too many double standards down that road.
Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.
