They've been felt and, by me, cherished!
My dad called, wanting me to visit, again today. He's a shit, but he's all i have left, and my mom stuck by him, even to the point of allowing him to sort of kill her, so.
i went, of course,
and he gives me a strand of Mikimoto Pearls, valued at approximately $75,000 usd. A strand of pearls that i told him my mom had SPECIFICALLY designated for my sis-in-law, BECAUSE she's my BRO'S WIFE. And always will be ~ it's like that. And these pearls are a FAMILY Heirloom ~ which my bro cares SO deeply about.
There's also a priceless piece of translucent jade, with ancient ideograms carved into it, which, thank God, IS going to my bro, even though that was something that was for me, 'cuz my mom knew i'd never wear it ~ you CAN't ~ it's too fragile, and would crack/break too easily. It DOES need to be handled, which my mom knew, and she knew i'd do that ~ take it out, touch it, marvel at it, and then put it back.
Needless to say, my mom was the "brains of the operation." (direct quote from one of the best movies you've probably never seen ~ Goin' South)
