and then, the membership ~ NOT YOU, Mosh ~ was downright ugly to them.

Y'all did those folks wrong. It worked out for the best, but that doesn't stop what y'all did from being wrong.
We haven't given the other new members that kind of shit ~ the one's Dylan spoke for, eh?
And, honestly, if that's how y'all "Welcome Folks," i don't see ANY recruitment efforts working out very well...
I didnt have time to respond to this earlier. These are my views of how it played out. I'm betting there's at least another 100 different views of it.
1: I'm the only active admin here at the moment, so I take it as my responsibility to do the right thing.
2: They werent hassled by us about the same old shit at HF. They brought the hassle here, and were surprised that the response wasnt positive.
3: Zoomie worded them up about the kind of crowd here prior to their arrival. If they failed to heed what they were told, that's not our fault. (I couldnt help but use the R1 reference)
4: As far as I'm concerned, we accomodated those folks, and didnt treat them any worse than any other noob we've ever had. You have a different view, and that's fine.
5: The folks Dylan brought here have approached the board in a low key way. Being stoners, I'm not surprised.
6: Some of the newer folks have less liberal views than many of rest of us. This I have no problem with, and in fact encouraged them to post their views. At the same time, they should be able to hold their own in debates, without being forced to backtrack or resort to childish accusations of censorship. No one is obligated to agree with anything anyone posts here. Complaints about the nature of posts can be made, but dont expect any moderation in response. Got a point of view? Back it up.
7: Normally, we dont recruit. People stumble across this site. Those who stay find room for themselves. You're right, this place isnt for everyone.
8: Age isnt a factor, maturity is. Sakhi is the youngest, and in my opinion, probably the most mature of the under 30 HF folks that came here.
That's the way I see it. It aint right or wrong. I was gonna go to their forum and stir up a shit storm, but that would be like kicking a puppy.
