Last time the flu went through this house, I was the only one who didn't get it. Which left me to clean up all the puke.

I got a flu shot last year and got the flu.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #6 on: September 10, 2009, 01:40:05 AM
Also, I hope you get better.  I am thinking about quitting my second job because when you run yourself ragged you tend to be more inclined towards getting sick.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #7 on: September 10, 2009, 02:40:59 AM
Burn, I have been telling my co-workers FOREVER that flu shots are a ploy by the government to inject everybody with sort of kill-switch nano-bots. So if there is ever another civil war, or breakout of mass chaos they push GO and the kill-switches activate, killing whatever percentage of the population has flu shots.

How do they stay powered for such an indefinite amount of time, when your cell phone needs to be recharged weekly?
Like yours.  Only different.

So. Get a flu shot.

Federal officials do not want to discourage anyone from getting the shot. But the CDC is only specifically recommending vaccinations for people at high risk for complications.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #11 on: September 10, 2009, 10:20:23 AM
I'm not getting the vaccine. I'm pretty sure that I already had swine flu or some kind of flu back in May (when I called Luke & Dave to ask them if I was dying).

You know how they get energy from water going through turbines in dams?

Well you have a little dam inside you, instead of from water it takes the energy from your blood.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #13 on: September 10, 2009, 01:58:46 PM
I haven't had anything resembling flu for at least 20 years. Last year my doctor tried really hard to talk me into getting one of the flu shots. I got a little annoyed at him.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #14 on: September 10, 2009, 05:27:59 PM
Ive never had a flu shot either, and never will. But for those who arent worried about the power of the ole Red White and Blue, this is the one to get.

Today is day 5, and Im feeling better. Drank alot of malt liquor last night, I think thats the key. If you get sick, get drunk. It makes perfect sense... really, it does.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #19 on: September 10, 2009, 07:09:05 PM
I don't do flu shots, or frivolous vaccines like chicken pox...I let my kids become immune to it the old fashioned way.

There is, however, a huge scar on my arm that says I will never get polio.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #20 on: September 10, 2009, 09:36:51 PM
I eat my boogers. It's my own little "flu shots." Proven fact that this hardens your immune system.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #21 on: September 11, 2009, 01:39:08 AM
I'm not going to get the flu shot this year I don't think.  I was upset about getting the gardasil shot since it was $300 and I recently learned you have to get it again in 5 years.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #22 on: September 11, 2009, 02:11:30 AM
I heard the FDA is going to suggest boys get a form of the HPV vaccination as well.

Brun-  What were your early symptoms?  I started feeling sick earlier.

Well you have a little dam inside you, instead of from water it takes the energy from your blood.

Good idea, conceptually!  Well done!

However, dams are stationary; it's the force of the water flowing through the constrictions of the dam's internals that generates that power.

So, your nanobots would need to be big enough to block off blood vessels, and you'd surely notice that with enough of them.  Plus, stuff would get caught (like it does in dams) and there would be an increase in embolisms and heart attacks over the last 20-30 years...

OH MY GOD.

Most people my age/generation haven't been vaccinated for polio so if there is another outbreak we're pretty much screwed. woohoo!

Well, it's back again, so enjoy! Thank the 3rd world countries who won't let the vaccine be given to their people because they believe in weird shit like AIDS can be cured by raping virgins.
