First thought was the RHCP.

This seems like the kind of show Channel Four would put on at about 11pm on a Friday night.*

*my understanding of Channel Four and their programming trends is only good as of 1993.

Isnt there a 3rd series now?

I dunno, I saw a billboard in New Jersey, so that could have easily been last years...

In Jerssey ? It could of been a promo for the 1st series.

I've watched it all the way through.  I think it's pretty funny.

The show is sick dark humor full of sex and drugs.

It's right up my alley.

Re: Californication Reply #12 on: October 13, 2009, 09:16:00 PM
I watched a little of it off and on last season, but it came on opposite something on HBO that I was watching so I didn't get to see a lot of it.  I've been watching it this season, though because fuck "Curb Your Enthusiasm".  I just don't like that show.

Californication is funny, though.  "Are you sexually harassing me?  Because if you are, I'm going to have to report you.... for giving me a boner."

Man, this week's episodes of both Dexter and Californication were EXCELLENT. Intense as fuck and hilarious, respectively.

I haven't watched a single episode of this, should I?

Should I start at the beginning or at some juicy point in the middle?
And what's it about btw?

Start at the beginning of season 3, that's where I started anyway.

Dexter HAS to be from the start.

Well, I guess I can't disagree, not having seen it from the start, but I didn't even get to see the beginning of this season, let alone the previous ones, and I'm really enjoying it.

Re: Californication Reply #20 on: November 19, 2009, 01:57:22 AM
Yoiu don't HAVE to see Dexter from the beginning, since the seasons are fairly independent other than small details in the storyline, but you'll appreciate the characters a lot more, especially Dexter himself, if you watch the whole series.

I just wish they hadn't killed off Doakes.  his acting was horrible, but he was still a badass.  He needs his own spinoff that's just him sneaking up on criminals and saying "Suprise, muthafucka."

Re: Californication Reply #21 on: November 19, 2009, 01:35:22 PM
Californication is a show I've watched from the start, but compared to other shows, the seasons do actually have a pretty huge divorce of character arc and storyline and I think all 3 stand alone pretty well independently.

Re: Californication Reply #22 on: November 19, 2009, 03:44:09 PM
Ok watched an episode of each this morning, Dexter S4E1 S3E1 Californication.

Dexter looks pretty interesting, probably watch it again, Californication, meh, never been a big fan of Ducovny but he's alright I suppose. I really liked a couple of his movies but I hated X Files.

I despised X-Files, but love this. Plus it's basically him playing himself, no?

Re: Californication Reply #26 on: November 21, 2009, 11:36:10 AM
I watched all of season one on Dexter yesterday.  Whoever said it should be watched from the start was correct. The individual episodes are self contained but the deal with the Ice Truck Murderer, well to understand anything about what's going on there requires watching it in sequence.
