I bake with soy milk.
I bake with bourbon instead of vanilla. It's good in brownies.
Preheat oven to 375
melt 1/2 cup butter or earth balance in a pot with 4 ounces of baker's chocolate
take it off the heat.
stir in 2 cups of sugar. Go nuts, use the organic evaporated cane juice. Fuck refined sugar.
beat in 4 eggs. From the local CSA, of course.
stir in 1 cup flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Ummm... organic?
Add 2 teaspoons of good bourbon. Or if you do this a lot, put some vanilla beans in a brown glass jar with some good bourbon. wait a few weeks, shake. Use that.
I like a handful of chopped up dried cherries in there to.
Put that shit in a pan and bake it. Check it every 5 minutes after 15 minutes by sticking a toothpick or a kebob skewer or your needle dick in there. When it comes out dry after it came out wet the last time, turn off the oven. Wait for the brownies to cool. Eat.
