Not bad. If you're an Alien(s) fan you'll like it. It answers a few questions about the xenomorphs but leaves a lot unanswered. Whiiiiiiiiiich means there will be a sequel to the prequel. Which generally tend to suck. Definitely see it in 3D.

One question though. And I'm about to get full on nerd with this because I've read a few Alien Vs. Predator novels, played the video games, watched the movies, and read the comic books.

How could Predators be hunting Aliens for thousands of years if they were created in the future?

I know that this is Ridley Scott's own interpretation of events, but he, Jon Spaihts, and Damon Lindelof just crapped on about 25+ years of Aliens and Predator writing.

Yeah that bugged me too.

It's Ridley Scott. He'll look at you, throw up his hands and mutter something about a parallel universe and move on.

Hah.  Sounds like the nerds that were yelling about Boba Fett after Clone Wars, or Terminator comics after Terminator 2.

The fuck cares about comic books.  It's based on a movie and that movie's story supersedes half-assed comic book and video game plots.

It's not just the comic books and the video game plots, troglodyte. It's about the franchise in general. Why did the writers of the new film seem to skip past years of writing to come up with something chronologically obtuse?

And fuck Star Wars. Lucas is god over that realm anyways.

I dunno, truth be told, I think the only predator movies I ever watched were the very first one and a recent one on cable where they threw Eric Foreman and Machete on an alien planet with some other talentless jackoffs to hunt them down.  God, that movie was shit.  I think I saw the end of one on cable awhile back where a black man went in a predator ship and the predator alien gave him a flintlock rifle or something.

I just laugh when comic-book obsessed geeks don't understand why their favorite comic book storyline was ignored in some film because Batman crossed over to fight alongside Ash Williams against Spider Man and Bruce Wayne as deadites.

The whole implication that you totally ignored my self-deprecating comment before I even started discussing the Aliens issue leaves me to wonder why you would throw in your trivial perspective. Apparently, it was too overwhelming of a question for your cynical, bourgeoisie palate to handle.

I pay attention to stories, no matter how inane it may seem to you. I thought we were discussing aspects about the film, not why Phaedrus thinks he's above comic book nerds in the pecking order. Is that the person you are, Phaedrus? A person that prances around town with his/her nose pointed upwards, critiquing the dilettantes about their dubious, child-like recreation? Snubbing your nose at mere fledgling literature and cinema because it's not sophisticated enough?

I liked Prometheus alright. I can't believe how stupid the guy was who thought it would be a good idea to fuck with the unknown snake thing in such a setting.
Or that it would be a good idea to take their helmets off ay any time without knowing what pathogens might be around even if the air was breathable.

A sequel could be interesting. I would like to see how they react when she and the robot bring their WMD's home to them.
