I'm a total fucking dork. My co-worker was reading some news website and I happened to catch an ad for VW's new album so I just looked it up, and that shit is out today! Here's a ridiculously pretentious review:

Also, they mentioned on that site that VW has just done an MTV Unplugged session, which also sounds like something I'd like to get a hold of.

I like them both.

I don't understand what makes them so polarizing.  In fact I have a hard time understanding what someone could possibly hate about them.

I don't know though how you can criticize them for that while praising the Dandy Warhols who are the same put-on hipster routine.

I like VW because their songs are catchy and talking about things like the "ghettos" of Cape Cod and lying about "how much coal you have" is funny and ironic way of bashing the worst trend of people who glamorize and try to co-opt poverty as part of their identity (see: most thrift store hipsters, all Detroit photographers).

I like Dandy Warhols because all of their jams sound like they just kicked off a kilo of blow and started cranking their guitars for 4 hours straight.  Gotta respect that.

CC does have very low rent zones in Yarmouth.  Who do you think does all the shit jobs ?
