I like plurk better- easier to respond and chat with people. I do use twitter, once i figured out i could send my "plurks" to twitter.I haven't found as much use for it though

I'd be interested to hear more about why you prefer Plurk to Twitter, do you have more friends there already, like the timeline display, other reasons?

Yes, I have many more friends there already.
 i like the customizable little widget for my blog, I like that you can respond in almost a chat style to peoples plurks(instead of writing the whole @ thing back and forth,- plurk is almost identical to twitter,if a message board crashed into it).
I do like the timeline a little better,Seems easier to browse through interesting plurks than twitter- but really, it is the reply function I prefer..

@username replies allow you to direct messages at individual users, and people reading the tweet can click through to that user's page
#hashcodes allow you to categorize your tweets, making them easier to search - Danzig something tells me you'd use this #hashtag a lot
RT is short for ReTweet, and it is a way of spreading messages through the network. If you see a tweet that interests you or you think your followers would be interested in, copy/paste the message and begin the tweet 'RT @username <paste message>'
URL shortening - Tweets are limited to 140 characters, and often URLs are long and unwieldy. Sites like tinyurl.com, bit.ly and tr.im help you save precious characters, although I've always wondered why there aren't more goatse tricks on Twitter given that people blindly click shortened links all the time.
