Those must be babies then because I had them that big in the yard in grew up in here in Ca.
And we have huge potato bugs as big as your hand, but you hardly ever see them because they stay underground.

my then fance decides to go scouting for deer and elk by dropping down what they call "rattlesnake hill" on his grandpa's land. he said to me "just stay in my footsteps and you'll be fine. " so that's exactly what i did. he stepped on or over the rattler, pissed it off and set it to coiling. i was walking directly in his steps and barely had time to see the stupid snake coiled up and just start rattling. the kick it got was my foot swnging forward to walk over it. foot flew forward, felt the THWOK of the rattler's head, flew up in the air and i chirpily shout "I FOUND ONE!!!" i think dave nearly had heart attack. then we went to go scout for some elk and deer.

Yeah, they do get quite a bit bigger than that. I've seen one that had to be at least 12-14", and been bitten by one that was about 9". Actually there aren't as many pictures around of giant Caribbean centipedes as I would have thought. I guess most people are like me and don't think to stop and take pictures, just fucking kill the thing.
