Do NYC like a tourist for a month. You might run into a backpacker for some fun, or a local/new to NYC. Worst case is you fall for somebody who isnt local.

we were introduced by a mutual friend at a local bar, while he was weekending here visiting family, 'twas the night after a long stretch of arguing with my previous boyfriend and the night before said ex and i broke up. kept seeing him on stray weekends for a few months, then we got together after he invited me to a wedding for our first date

Samantha was one of my sister's best friends growing up, then she moved back to her native Barbados. Barbados being relatively close, she visited Antigua fairly frequently. Over the years she and I became really good friends as well, to the point where when she came here she'd just stay at my house.

In early September of 2005, she was planning an xmas trip over here for the various parties, and asked if it would be OK if she brought a friend. I said sure. She then gave me and "the friend" each other's email/msn addresses so we wouldn't be complete strangers.

"The friend" turned out to be a lovely young lass named Amy. We started chatting on msn and then the phone for hours and hours every day, and really hit it off. Hitting it off led to flirting, flirting got more serious, and eventually we decided that waiting for xmas was bullshit, why didn't she just come over here for a weekend before that. She flew in October 7th, things went extremely well, and then she had to leave to go back to school October 9th.

We kept on chatting on msn and the phone even more than before, and planned for a longer visit later that month. She flew in October 21st and stayed till the 25th. She went back to Barbados, quit school, and flew back here November 1st. We've been together ever since.

So technically you could say that we met online, I guess. As an added advantage, I was able to see pics of her and Samantha, so I knew she was who she said she was. And who she was was, and is, hot!
