Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

As for the spare mattress aka "joe's bed", i threw it out last year :( It lives in the tullytown landfill now. Besides, would you want to sleep on a spunky mattress?

krsna: Tell us a story about hookers and maybe it'll calm down. I love your stories. Need a new exciting ending??

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I think I will talk about this in the open.

You've really started taking yourself too seriously since I first met you, and you're not very good at being the butt of any joke.

eitje, if this was some kind of joke, I surely don't get it. I'm also pretty disappointed that I'm the butt of a joke that doesn't make anyone laugh. In fact, your "joke" makes everyone think I'm an asshole. While this may seem unimportant to you, I do consider some of these people my real life friends and I don't want people that I care about thinking I'm some asshole because of your failed joke.

Listing your weekend and poking fun at me is a great idea... if myself or anyone reading it understood that this is what you are doing.

Now if we are into airing dirty laundry, 13chemicals, I told eitje that I thought things were working out for you job wise and school wise. I expressed that I was happy that it worked out for you that way and you seem to be in a great place, from what I could read. Though I don't know for sure, as all I know is what is on this board. We talked for a brief moment on Austin music scene as I was reading a catalogue that had local austin rock bands modeling the clothes (anthropologie). I believe your involvement in the scene there was mentioned, though not thoroughly discussed. Now if eitje thinks this is a bad thing, then I'm quite confused. Unless you were joking, too, in which case neither I nor anyone else gathered that.

Katie,

Things went downhill for me really badly that week starting on Thursday night and I completely forgot about making your spring rolls. They sound awesome and are something I fully intend to make soon.

Aside from feeling like we're all getting a bit namby-pamby being so worried about treading on each other's delicate sensibilities, here's my take on this stuff...

eitje, if this was some kind of joke, I surely don't get it.

I laughed. I thought he was being tongue-in-cheek about "being forced to sleep on a couch" when the reality was that you put him up in your house for free, and showed him around town! I don't see how anyone could think you're an asshole for doing that. His post seemed more self-deprecating than anything.

Also, for what it's worth, after having spent nearly a decade chatting and interacting with you lot, I really don't differentiate between real life and online friends. As I've said before, the vast majority of you would be welcome in my house, be it for a BBQ lime of some kind, or to crash on my couch. I like to think a lot of you feel the same way about me.

Honestly Mel, and you know I like you and consider you a friend, but that's how you're coming off here. It seems like you misunderstood the intent of eitje's post, and reacted accordingly. But then I have no idea if there's more to it than just what's posted here. I'm just going on what I've read.

Thanks for your input Si. I do really appreciate it, and I agree, many of you people are welcome in my house, including you Si.
I was not originally upset about that post in the least...

It's about sasha's reaction some pages back. I didn't shit talk anyone and I don't want my friends thinking I'm some asshole who talks shit. If there was some kind of joke in that, It flew right over my head.

Lastly, there is more to this. That's something I'm hatching out in PM with eitje.

eitje, if this was some kind of joke, I surely don't get it.

I think this whole rant just goes to show that you just take yourself too seriously.

Do you remember how many times that happened last weekend?  How many times you were alarmed because you took what I thought was a nonsensical comment and made it into something real?

It was some way ultra-defensive behavior.  Much like we're seeing now.

Si had it right - the whole thread was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, because I had an awesome time up there.

Seriously, everything was great, until I got back and you totally flipped out.

edit:  And whose opinion of you do you think has been impacted, anyway?  Sasha's?  Tricky's?  Do their opinions really matter to you?

I'm really glad I got a chance to eat a whole rack of them.  On the flight home, I considered posting a public apology thread (or redirecting zoomie's) just to say that your BBQ was indeed incredible enough to impress me as a Texan.
