Me too. I have to get it from my grandma's house and then get it tuned. Been meaning to do it for months.

All mine really needs is some air in the tyres and probably a little WD40 here and there. My biggest problem is that it's just so fucking HOT these days, it's ridiculous. Early morning or late afternoon are the only times I could ride without needing several gallons of water, and I work most afternoons and am very much not a morning person. Hence why I love my nice air-conditioned gym so much.

My air-conditioned gym? Not really. They mostly play really shitty gym-type boppy electro-crap. There's even a bullshit dance version of 20th Century Digital Boy. Blech.

my Gym comes with an onsen and a sauna. It's random because they don't charge as much as other places with just showers

the music? all 80's, all the time

I bet there are some really awesome places to go down there, though.

I think all transport on Antigua should be replaced with go-carts.

There are some great trails and stuff, but the only problem is that the island is overrun with cassie bush, which makes for lots of flat tyres if you don't stay on the beaten path.

I need new tires, tubes, and pedals. Plus the gear tune up. It's a Specialized Rockhopper.

I'm going to be out that way tonight and I think I'll pick up a bike rack and bring it town to Delaware.

Diamondback Curaca circa 1987. Still a great bike, though a little heavy. Hasn't seen the sun since 2004.

Got a set of Blackburn racks front and rear. I bought it when I lived n Monterey, CA with dreams of biking cross country. The Air Force had other plans. But it's touched ground in Japan, Korea, PI and Guam.

It's a cruiser ? 24" wheels for those not int he know. Cruisers are GOOD money. Just the frame alone is nice thing to find.

Yeah, a cruiser is the one type of bike that it seems people would prefer to get a classic model.

Re: Emp's New Bike! (and tattoo) Reply #47 on: June 08, 2009, 05:18:42 PM
because its now.....if anybody ever sets eyes on any BMX with CRISP or SUPER LA stickers on it. I got atleast $1500USD for you. Just for the dam frame.

Also because you really can't improve a cruiser.  You can make it out of lighter metals, but otherwise the design hasn't changed.  BMX bikes are sort of the same way - they have to be significantly over built considering what you're going to do with them, so there wasn't a whole lot you could do with them.

Mountain bike geometry and suspension have changed pretty significantly.  Even most single speed builds utilize suspension and disc brakes.

Road bikes have gotten a lot lighter, which is probably the most significant thing since they don't see the crazy loads of mountain bikes or BMX bikes, though there have been other improvements too.  The Cannondale I have in the basement is less than half of the weight of my dad's old road bike on which I learned to ride.

I dunno about that. Well I dont know wha you know about BMX really. I used to race BMX and I still get out and ride flat when my body permits, just an fyi.

sooo...theres this idea.

bikes with removable steel rear piece, later made aluminum rear models. Really nice to ride.

uni blade fork. was also made in 24". I tried one once. Freaked me out. The company was started by the guy who owned redline.

Suspension aint new to BMX either I give you the 1973 Matthews Monoshock.

Also, Theres carbon composite forks on BMX race bikes and crusiers. And then there was the titanium experiments of the early 90s. hmm, im getting to excited. I stop now. 'cept to add yes, the basic idea of BMX hasent changed. but yeah...i dont know what you know about BMX.

And then there was the titanium experiments of the early 90s.

I had a titanium alloy Raleigh, which had front suspension back when that was still kind of a big deal. Light as shit, great fucking bike. Got stolen, unfortunately.

I stand corrected.

The BMX bikes the outdoor shop I used to work at sold were nothing special.  I didn't realize that they did neat things with them.

I got a Kiwi mate who's totally gay for BMX. So much so that he gave up a sweet paying but ultimately pointless job to work in a bike shop. He loves it.

He's also been injured so many times because of BMX that his missus has told him no more.

Anyways, he knows a dude who's job is solely desigining BMX bikes. This dude also is the lead singer of Australia's premier hair metal band, the Deadthings, and better still, he was Candy Manson's other half for a while, til he got totally sick of her shit, bought her a ticket back to the US and dumped her ass at Tullamarine Airport.

I'd like that Kiwi. I think about BMX on a daily basis. It's my biggest vice.
