The Arcade Fire - Wake Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEKC5pyOKFU#lq-lq2-hq)
have had this album forever but got really hooked on this song again from watching the where the wild things are trailer

Chemical Brothers - The State We're In (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BnvA8jIUbI#lq-lq2-hq)
love the chemical brothers and this one sticks in my head for days

Brand Nubian - All For One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPfBRSscspU#lq-lq2-hq)
listening to a lot of late-80s/early-90s rap lately.  this has been one of my all-time favorite rap tracks for a long time.

VIOLENT FEMMES-Add it Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHapDS2fcFE#lq-hq)
listening to the violent femmes self-titled album a bunch lately, never got into them much until recently.  someone got this album for me years ago and only recently did i really get into it.

The Scientists (Kim Salmon) - We had love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUdoxs3twqc#lq-lq2-hq)
from the rocknrolla soundtrack, great film, great soundtrack.

LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL79-7oo9Xc#noexternalembed-lq-lq2-hq)

mostly just my friends bands, since theres not much of anything good going on right now. waco and crime desire both put out pretty good lps not too long ago. i just got the new northern towns 10" this weekend, havent listened to it yet but it should be good.

uh i like hammers of misfortune but their last double lp or 2 separate lps or whatever it was kind of sucked, i think they went through some line up changes. but slough feg is still good, unless you get stuck seeing them with the sword and a million faggot hipsters.

riot city singles collection and then mostly rocksteady + skinhead reggae stuff and immortal technique i guess thats kind backpacker but oh well

I listen to Air Supply.

A lot.

You've said that before, and i'm never real sure when you joking around, but if you aren't:

Have you listened to MSG?  Bread?  MSG gets a little harder, and Bread is just as light as Air Supply.

Aldo Nova, if you like it a bit harder?

Haha those guys were at Warped Tour this year. They were playing on one of the stages near the beer area, so we got to hear them some (and see the crowd they attracted... let's just say these weren't the same dudes in the Bad Religion pit). They were fucking hilarious.

I had the joy of interviewing Kai. Great guy! I play Real World from Land of The Free II, almost every show. It's just a great atheist anthem. And for Coffin Syrup... Here's a clip of a show they played... They are a local grind band. love them! In fact, I am wearing their shirt in the assless panties picture in the other thread.

There's little music I can't appreciate in some way if I'm in the right mood. Most recently I've been on a bit of a Dave Brubeck, George Shearing, Paul Desmond, Chick Corea kick. I feel like I'm drifting drone-wise, though. Some solid shoegaze may be in order shortly...

I've seen Depeche Mode 5 times.  They are only fun to watch if you are on poppers.  I know it sounds gay, but trust me... it's appropriate.
Title: Re: Music

Hahahahaha!

.....yeah it's appropriate cuz watching Depeche Mode in concert IS gay.
Title: Re: Music

You only say that because you can't afford to go to a live show, you broke, jobless bastard.
Title: Re: Music
Post by: Drugmoth on August 28, 2009, 03:43:20 AM
Yes, yes that is exactly why.  It has nothing to do with Depeche Mode being ultra gay.

I can go to a concert any time I please.  I never please though because there aren't any good shows around here.  Most bands don't tour past Mass.  Go Maine.

That's lame. Maine is lame. Makes total sense why you live there.

The only way that listening to Depeche Mode is gay, is if it's playing as background music while having sex with guys.

Title: Re: Music

Bodom is better band than Hatebreed, but Jasta and crew do put one tight show, though. Even if it is just chugga chugga ra ra, chugga chugga ra ra.

I'm big on The Acacia Strain live. So much intensity and Vince's rants are a thing of beauty. Not to mention hearing JFC live is incredible.
