He's a cat 4 now but thankfully seems to be heading just NW of us. In fact, there's absolutely no breeze today here in the North of the island, but big swell on the East coast. The surfers all called in sick today.

So I'm glad Bill's staying away for now, but would appreciate getting the breeze back. It's ridiculously hot today.

i can't remember the wind speeds and all, but it was the worst typhoon to hit land, ever.

i think.

We lived across the street from the Exchange ~ the WalMart of military bases ~ and it was a Quonset hut building, that blew away...  We were out, after the storm, grabbing ~ well, i grabbed books, but all sorts of stuff was out there.

After that, we used the cement foundation for roller skating.

Guam was a small island, too,

and Karen hit us, full force.

i know what you go through ~ no carpet, furniture with water stains up at least a couple of inches, nothing "good" in the way of furniture...

Smart move on the studio apartment!  Independence, and freedom.
