I at first figured he just popped out when they opened the door and ran for it.
At 19 there is a good chance he could have gotten away even with them chasing him.

Prisoners DO escape from our prisons, and jails.

Seems to me like they head for Mexico, San Antonio or Houston, back to family and friends.

i haven't heard of 'em doing a bunch of damage, along the way, but i haven't really paid that much attention, i'm afraid.
