I saw these guys Wednesday night: http://www.myspace.com/soundsofgeronimo (http://www.myspace.com/soundsofgeronimo)
I was really impressed. I hadn't though about Man is the Bastard since the late 90s until this band was playing a show here. There's a whole bunch of Man is the Bastard associated bands playing pretty interesting noise / electronic music. Also related and worth checking out: The Bastard Noise & Amps for Christ.

hmmm, to me it sounds like the runoff from a Tool CD, ie all the bits they didn't put into their songs
I'm listening to a copy of an older Tool album I had lying around... the background noises sound similar
-
I could see that. Tool does introduce a lot of elements from different subgenres of heavy music and electronic music into the sound they put out.
-
Thought Tool was overrated then, think Tool is overrated now.
-
as do most people here... point?

I would agree. They're top-notch musicians, but that does not necessarily mean the music is good or particularly unique. Then again what's "good" is relative to who you ask.

No point, just stating a fact.

Everyone is entitled to their wrong opinion.

And yours is equally wrong.

I've seen Tool 5 times. Only fun to see if you are drinking a bunch of beers and snorting some cocaine. Sorry to say it, but it's true.
-
Honestly though, those would make most events fun.
-
I don't get what's not to like about Tool. I like them fine. I think Adam Jones constructs a good video too.
-
I like a couple of Tool songs, but generally they're pretty blah.
-
I liked their first EP a lot. I also liked the first two albums. I was disappointed with the third. And I sold the fourth album back to the record store the same day I bought it after 1 listen.
Opiate is all that I will still listen to now.
I think Tool was primarily a good introduction to other heavy progressive or experimental music.
