Post by: BURNaMERICA on September 09, 2009, 07:02:02 PM
Yeah, I have Swine Flu. Holy crap. I have never gotting a flu shot in my life, and wouldnt, but this thing is really fucking bad. 103 temp, and a headache so bad I went to the ER and for put on narcotics. So. Get a flu shot. But watch out, theres probably some chem warfare testing or tracking device in there somewhere I guess. This has been a public service announcement brought to you by beer.

Also, I hope you get better.  I am thinking about quitting my second job because when you run yourself ragged you tend to be more inclined towards getting sick.

Burn, I have been telling my co-workers FOREVER that flu shots are a ploy by the government to inject everybody with sort of kill-switch nano-bots. So if there is ever another civil war, or breakout of mass chaos they push GO and the kill-switches activate, killing whatever percentage of the population has flu shots.

So. Get a flu shot.

Federal officials do not want to discourage anyone from getting the shot. But the CDC is only specifically recommending vaccinations for people at high risk for complications.

I'm not getting the vaccine. I'm pretty sure that I already had swine flu or some kind of flu back in May (when I called Luke & Dave to ask them if I was dying).

You know how they get energy from water going through turbines in dams?

Well you have a little dam inside you, instead of from water it takes the energy from your blood.

Ive never had a flu shot either, and never will. But for those who arent worried about the power of the ole Red White and Blue, this is the one to get.

Today is day 5, and Im feeling better. Drank alot of malt liquor last night, I think thats the key. If you get sick, get drunk. It makes perfect sense... really, it does.

Well you have a little dam inside you, instead of from water it takes the energy from your blood.

Good idea, conceptually!  Well done!

However, dams are stationary; it's the force of the water flowing through the constrictions of the dam's internals that generates that power.

So, your nanobots would need to be big enough to block off blood vessels, and you'd surely notice that with enough of them.  Plus, stuff would get caught (like it does in dams) and there would be an increase in embolisms and heart attacks over the last 20-30 years...

OH MY GOD.

Early symptoms were dry coughing (whuch may have been unrelated, I smoke like a train... on fire.) for a couple days then an immediated fever and flu symptoms. Ache, headache lowgrade fever temp of 100.7. Within 24 hours temp was 103.1. Ive NEVER had a headache with the flu like this one was. Horrible. I was paceing at the ER because it hurt too much to sit still.

Basically, if you have flu symptoms this early in the year its like a 90 percent chance its the swine flu. Lasted about a week but the cough is still around.

You can also pick up a box of 'em at any pharmacy ~ WalGreens's, WalMart, like that ~

as well as gloves, latex free or not.

If you DO need to cough, or sneeze?

Do it into your shirt sleeve ~

less transference, air-borne AND physical contact, between you and everything you've touched, AND between you and everything you're GOING to touch on your way to wash your hands after each sneeze/cough.

Use those anti-bacterial wipes on everything you touch, including drawer handles, light switches, door knobs, EVERYTHING.

Use either anti-bac wipes or gel stuff on your hands, frequently.

Wash your hands, for 15 seconds (sing the A-B-C song ~ that's approximately 15 secs), scrubbing between your fingers, the folds in the knuckles of your fingers, scratch the palm of one hand with the fingernails of the other, to insure THEIR cleanliness, then rinse and dry.

Call my orifice in the morning, and my fee is Chest Shots, from the Males of the forum.  (That's right, menfolks ~ tit shots of Y'ALL!)

I found out years ago that the reason I am sick for only a day or 3 at a time, if I get sick, since it's a rarity, is that, with Type "O+" blood, and my specific genetics, or my mass exposure to illness as a medic, I have an enzyme in my blood that makes it too acidic for most bacteria and virii to cultivate ....

They caught this when I was tested many times when I didn't get Strep Throat and everyone around me did ...

Yeah suck it up. Its the flu. (yes a hell of a flu), but ALL flus are gawdaweful after all, but its still the flu. More contagious maybe. but shit... the world has endured H1N1, what, three times in recorded history? Once in the early 1900's, it killed like a bazillion people. The Cold killed fuckers back then. Then the70's, we THOUGHT it killed folks, but people were offing from AID's, we just didnt know what it was then (thanks hippies). Now? Christ, a man on the moon (allegedly), USSR's gone, Cuba has cell phones, aMERICA has a negro president that no imbred white trash has shot yet, I think we can handle the flu... Again, suck it up. The phlegm has started to darken this afternoon, going from clear/white to clear/clumpy-yellow.  This is not a great sign.

Sasha told me to go to the doctor today, but I'm going to give whatever this is another 24 hours to get its shit packed and move out.

I should have listened to her yesterday and just gone to the doc.  I *did* go today, and...

I have a cough today, which I picked up yesterday.  No fever, just chest phlegm.

The stuff got more yellowy, but still very liquidy.

The doc said that I have what's called "Walking Pneumonia", or Community-Acquired Pneumonia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community-acquired_pneumonia), which is probably just a bacterial infection causing some liquid to build up in my lungs.  So, I'm on antibiotics until Friday and, if symptoms don't change, the doc said he'll want to do a chest x-ray and, depending on that, maybe hospitalize me.

I've learned my lesson, God.  No more old jokes about Zoomie (even though, by all accounts, HE should have gotten pneumonia before ME!).

I thought it would be funny to come here and ask Danzig what kind of cough syrup he recommends for me, given these symptoms.  :)

My doctor decided cheratussin was the right way to go!

I've had Walking Pneumonia; 3 days and it was gone completely ....

They caught it again, in adult life, when I was exposed to TB and I had NO symptomsl EVER ....

Let's copulate. With your super human health, and my shitty health, the offspring would have at least normal health. But I don't think one can get pregnant from buttsecks.

Well, there's that ...
I mean, I can pull out, jack off in my hand, and then fist you if you'd like ...

Nice. I heard this theme several times tonight. I hear NZ/AU beer tastes like a fine ass, JP beer tastes sweet, and US beer tastes like dirty piss.

Also all of you who have opted not to get the flu vaccine are fools and most of you have no idea how vaccines work. But I'll spare you all the tirade I've been giving my friends who decided not to get it (it was free for us students, so the tirade is very deserved). It means, your symptoms match those described for people who have the flu.  And there's been a lot of people in Austin getting sick recently with a flu that's not swine flu.

Since you're in a thread called "swine flu", and you said "Am I getting *the* flu?", I just wanted to clarify that your symptoms match a normal flu strain, not H1N1 symptoms.

it was definitely a morbid fascination of mine for the first few months. when the time felt right, i delved into the subject with him. the lowdown is this: they were married in their mid-twenties, and apparently she bored the fuck out of him by the time they were 31, (my money's on: she stopped putting out!) so he filed for divorce. he tells me he got married too young, before he really knew himself and what he wanted, before he was ready to settle down with one person. he said that the only reason he would never say he'd take it back if he could, is because of his wonderful little boy. he's changed a lot since then, and now wants to be with me and only me.

personal side note: his ex-wife and i are the only women he's ever slept with without condoms. besides, he makes a great-looking kid. i'd say i'm pretty good-looking with good bone structure, and he's absolutely gorgeous, so i'm thinking our kids will be astonishingly adorable. booyah, bitches. i can't wait to make some cute babies!

re: "better looking kid than this"
I'm worried it's not possible. I can honestly tell you all that of the hundreds of little kids i've spent time around, his son is the cutest, most well-behaved, smartest little boy I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I pray mine come close to that.

re: living together
I know that if/when we take things to a more serious level, it will be unrushed and well-timed. neither of us want to fuck any of this up by being foolish or hotheaded and rush into something before we're both ready. I think in that area, he's more concerned with me being ready, as he has pretty much been there and done that, and wouldn't want me to feel i rushed into marriage before i was ready.

As for child support: We don't have any form of joint finances just yet, but I was just thinking the other day that we will probably set up some sort of slow-growing savings account in both names that we will agree to add to each month...something like that. the child support situation is not at all mine until the day comes when we merge all accounts, which I can only see myself doing if we were to get engaged. so far it has affected me in that he has had X amount less each month to live on, and other than that he knows how I feel about the larger-than-required sum he pays weekly, but the deeper I've fallen in love with both him and his son, I couldn't say I'd want that boy to get a penny less than the current amount. how can you begrudge your child? I'd never expect him to. if it means less money to say, put a down payment on a house or something in the future... Well, it is what it is. Life isn't always ideal. I accept and love him, history and all.

My ex fiance, Russell, got together with this chick with a kid about four months after we finally broke up.  I think he did it to make me mad.  Anyway, two years later she took off with the kid never to be seen again.  They had merged bank accounts and she drained him dry.  I would never share my money with another, ever.  Money ruins relationships.
Title: Re: Swine Flu
Post by: hip on October 29, 2009, 11:52:01 AM
yeah, i've never been a big fan of the idea of merging finances, but i can't say i don't see myself doing it with someone i deem to be "the one". i plan on almost always working and being as equal as i can be when it comes to contributing fiscally to my family, so it may never be necessary. who knows? despite popular opinion, i've never expected to be a kept woman (though i wouldn't turn the idea away, of course). this guy is such a gem. he'd never screw anyone over, at least not in any way i can see, especially if it was to come down to us breaking up with or without joint accounts. he's logical, hard-working, and the most honest dude ever. if he was to go and break my heart one day (which he won't!), i just know he'd never fuck with me or our shared interests. he's a really good and decent man. he has a very amicable relationship with his ex-wife despite his feelings toward her, in order to always keep the peace for the sake of their son, and has always been kind to her since the divorce, as he has never had any desire to hurt her further than that alone.

i'm sure lots of silly girls in love believe this shit about the object of their affection, but you have to believe in something, right?
Title: Re: Swine Flu
Post by: 13chemicals on October 29, 2009, 11:54:20 AM
I just have a "glass is half full" approach to stuff like this.  I would never deem anyone "the one" because that always leads to disappointment, and I wouldn't assume that this guy will love me forever.
Title: Re: Swine Flu
Post by: hip on October 29, 2009, 03:29:10 PM
i hope he will, rather than assume he will, just the way i hope i love him forever without eventually getting bored and looking for fulfillment elsewhere/with someone else. i would like to get married and be monogamous, even if i'm not quite sure if it can happen easily, and/or happen happily. my parents are married and crazy about eachother (29 years strong) but they are definitely in the minority.

My wife and I haven't merged accounts, it works out. We just split the living costs according to our incomes. I pay for more dinners out than she does and we're good. The rest of our money we spend of what we want, and since we're both naturally frugal there's no worry that one side is spending the family dry.

How do they stay powered for such an indefinite amount of time, when your cell phone needs to be recharged weekly?

You know how they get energy from water going through turbines in dams?

Well you have a little dam inside you, instead of from water it takes the energy from your blood.

OH MY GOD.

I sort of absentmindedly followed this conversation with a bit of amusement because I'm pretty sure baggies first post was made in jest. But this is not as far fetched as it may sound at first.

We are making great strides in nanotechnology and the idea of micro robots attaching themselves to your nervous system to act as a form of kill switch makes perfect sense.

And you guys have all missed the boat entirely on the power issue. Take for instance RFID chips, they have NO power supply! They are completely inert until you pass a scanner over them. the scanned emits a radio field (generally somewhere in the microwave range) which then powers up the RFID and allows it to transmit it's ID code back to the scanner.

With these kill switch nanobots as originally proposed They could use almost any radio field as a power source (leakage from the home microwave perhaps or some field being generated near the clinic) to reach their programed destinations where they could then lie dormant indefinitely.

In the event of an uprising or other mass disturbance all that would be required it to bathe the crowd in a modulated microwave field. It wouldn't need to be very powerful, the people wouldn't even know they were being attacked. The nanobots could be programed to perform several different functions from paralysis, unconsciousness or death based on the exact coded modulation of the microwave field. And since microwaves can be focused like light they can be shaped into a laser beam (maser) to select a single target among a large crowd, or expanded into a flood light to encompass the entire crowd.

Alternativly using HAARP the signal could be broadcast from Alaska bounced off the ionosphere and beamed back down on entire portions of states anywhere in the US.

Now I'm not trying to encourage baseless crackpot ideas but I thought I should just mention that this scenario is not entirely impossible.

I eat my boogers. It's my own little "flu shots." Proven fact that this hardens your immune system.

i just puked in my mouth

and then i put a bit of the puke into my nostril.
