CNN - Coverage buried on website. Televised coverage was heckled for pointing their camera in the opposite direction of main crowd.
Reported: 500, later changed to 1000.
Washington Post - Turned off Mall camera. Took some tight shots/kept cameras on edge of crowd and reported "thousands". This proves to be the norm.
DOT Mall Cam - Taken offline.
Earth Cam Capitol Cam - Taken offline.
Traffic cams - Running closed loops of empty streets.
ABCNews - Coverage buried on website.
Reported: 60,000-70,000
MSNBC - Coverage buried.
Reported: "Tens of thousands"
Now, let's take a look at one of the graphics used in playing up Obama's inauguration:
...and then let's look at some wider-angle shots:

More conservative estimate from local protester and park police: 1.3 million
...and that's not counting the hundreds of thousands around the country who showed up to protests in their own cities.
-
What's really amazing to me is that - if 2 million people were actually there - that they'd managed to organize themselves so quickly.
and with so many clever banners.
-
These protests have been occurring on a local level all summer, where have you been?
I'm sorry if they do not ride in on buses with matching t-shirts and professionally-printed signs like the pro-Obama (formerly anti-war) Soros-funded grassroots protesters and their union enforcers brethren.
-
It's funny, I live less than 30 miles away, was in the city yesterday and didn't know it was going on. Unlike the MIllion Man MArch a few years ago where traffic was backed up halfway to Philadelphia.
So I think, as usual, the the bucket of fried right wings is trying to make more of itself than it is.
-
These protests have been occurring on a local level all summer, where have you been?
I've been under the assumption that the protests were not 2 million strong and were, in fact, at a local level.
I'm sorry if they do not ride in on buses with matching t-shirts and professionally-printed signs like the pro-Obama (formerly anti-war) Soros-funded grassroots protesters and their union enforcers brethren.
From the pictures I've seen since you pointed this out, there's very little repetition amongst the signs these folks are carrying. Aren't you at all suspicious of 2 million people getting together, but no one writing up the same kind of content on their signs? That's just really well organized.
-
Okay, Zoomie. Same Million Man March that sued Parks and Services for not playing along?
Are you saying these pictures are fake, or are you saying the estimates and reporting for Obama's inauguration are fake?
-
Look up, eitje. The point is flying past.
no one writing up the same kind of content on their signs
Well, there are a hell of lot of things to protest when the administration is grasping at everything within its reach.
-
Look up, eitje. The point is flying past.
Well, yeah, I guess you'll just get to be snide, and I'll continue to be surprised at how structured all of these people were.
edit: I'm not always trying to bust your balls, dude. I'm genuinely surprised, and honestly curious about what must have gone into the planning of such an event. The level of organization this group of people shows (assuming almost 2M is accurate) rivals almost anything I've seen; did they organize via Facebook, or some other medium? Can you imagine a 2 million person mailing list?
-
Maybe aliens projected extra people on the ground with lasers and holographs.
-
There were busses. The heavily publicized Tea Party Express was the flagship.
This was organized by FOX. I watch the channel pretty regularly, and they've been raising awareness for the "Big September 12 March" for the last few weeks. On the 11th they spent the whole day (quite naturally) broadcasting heart-rending imaged of the 2001 tragedy. I think it was intended to really whip up some strong emotions.
Two things I'm struck with on viewing the crowd:
1-Wow we have a lot of middle-class white people in this great country. (Interestingly contrary to the reports of mixed attendance broadcast by FOX)
2-There is even less focus to these protesters than the left-wing protesters in the drawn out months after Iraq began. I've never seen a more disorganized campaign as far as issues are concerned. Yes there are a lot of people who are very mad, but the problems is they're either all mad at different things or they're not sure why they're mad to tell the truth.
-
Or they've been suckered by party propaganda (read: lies) and are caterwauling about stupid shit that just doesn't exist.
-
Denial is the first step...
-
Doormouse knows best (http://loaded-gun.com/index.php?topic=436.msg21501#msg21501).
You can't trust anyone, these days!
-
I still don't get what people are protesting about. Better and cheaper health care for all?
-
From a pragmatic standpoint: Because it will be neither cheaper nor better. It will be massively inefficient and payed for through extortion (taxes), the cost of which will result in an increase in the cost of living for everyone. Because it will result in healthcare significantly below what is widely available in the US currently... as is the case everywhere outside the US. You know, like my friend's uncle up in Canada, on a three-month waiting list to have his pancreatic cancer treated. Or... let's say this woman, who had her infant killed as per regulation: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1211950/Premature-baby-left-die-doctors-mother-gives-birth-just-days-22-week-care-limit.html (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1211950/Premature-baby-left-die-doctors-mother-gives-birth-just-days-22-week-care-limit.html)
From a legal standpoint: First and foremost, the Constitution of the United States does not empower the federal government to do such things like this. Not much in there to offer philosophical support for seizing control of 1/6th of the economy, either. Secondly, because the majority of Americans do not want more statist bullshit lumped on top of what we already have to put up with. In your country, you perhaps do not mind being a ward of the state. It is a different culture, here.
On that note, I should point out that government-controlled healthcare is only one of many, many issues being protested. the common thread amongst them all, however, is taxation without representation, which is why that is the backbone everyone is organizing around... or at least as much as they can before the left, in it's infinite tolerance and benevolence, starts threatening to bomb those not of Correct ideological loyalties: http://hotair.com/archives/2009/09/12/breaking-bomb-threat-against-tea-party-organizers/ (http://hotair.com/archives/2009/09/12/breaking-bomb-threat-against-tea-party-organizers/)
As for the accusations that the conservatives and moderates who were protesting were somehow too, suspiciously, able to organize themselves, all I have to say is this: They are, perhaps, actual adults, as opposed to the arrested adolescents which make up so much of Obama's base.
As illustrated:

DC post Tea Party protest

I guess, just as with everything else, they expected it was someone else's responsibility to clean up their shit.
-
I understand your opinion. Personally I think that limiting litigation will cause a plunge in the cost of health care, without handing any control over to the government.
-
So do most people opposing the current administration's socialist ambitions. We do not nor should we expect anything effectual on that front (limiting ambulance chasers) from a political party dominated by lawyers, and which cultivates a sub-culture of victimhood-as-virtue and entitlement. It certainly isn't what the total strangulation of the private healthcare industry and massive expansion of state authority as outlined in the current bill is about.
-
Wait, where does Pravda fit into this?
I like Pravda sometimes comrade.
-
Da.
-
-
the common thread amongst them all, however, is taxation without representation, which is why that is the backbone everyone is organizing around...
Aren't all Americans represented, though, through the House and the Senate?
-
Not Washington DC or some of the territories. This is about them!
-
Yes because there aren't enough free medical clinics run by African American charities in DC for African American people. And the same could be said for Guam and Puerto Rico and their residents. When the government ignores your pleas for a few hundred years you leanr how to cope. You shouldn't have to, but you do.
-
Tom, you forgot the FOX News Fair and Balanced poll.
Also, have you checked in with the Weekly World News?
Secondly, because the majority of Americans do not want more statist bullshit lumped on top of what we already have to put up with. In your country, you perhaps do not mind being a ward of the state. It is a different culture, here.
Then why did quite a large majority of American voters elect Obama? Seems to me that he was pretty clear from the get-go that he intended to shake up the healthcare system.
Not Washington DC or some of the territories. This is about them!
Hahahaha!
-
Oh come on now, you know that was election fraud. I mean, outside of the fact that Obama isn't even ELIGIBLE to be president...
Fatt argued these points much better and was more entertaining.
-
Also, as to the original post:
The left wing media outlet the Wall Street Journal quotes 75,000 (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125276685577405975.html?mod=rss_Today's_Most_Popular).
The socialists at Fox News reported tens of thousands (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/12/tea-party-express-arrives-march-washington-protest-government-spending/?test=latestnews).
2,000,000 is a bullshit number pulled out of Michelle Malkin's ass.
-
I'm still not seeing the connection between having a public option and any reduction in the quality of healthcare. Private options should ensure that the much lauded "best healthcare in the world" is still available to all the rich bastards out there, rights? Isn't this kind of a distortion considering that nobody is suggesting doing away with private options? Are you suggesting that this is the beginning of what you imagine will be a full-scale socialization of healthcare? You need to explain this better, because it doesn't flow logically right now.
Even the blatantly pro-socialist WHO rates the US as number one in "service". The "public option" rhetoric is meaningless. When the plan on the floor will constrict private ensurers out of existence and requires citizens by law to some form of insurance or pay signifigant fines, it isn't a fucking option.
Do you seriously believe that giving everyone within the united states "free" healthcare is not going to see an increase in people showing up at the hospital or doctor's office for utterly stupid little matters? Wait... isn't your whole idea to dump 47 million more people into the medical field's work load?
Do you seriously believe that doctors will enjoy seeing the culmination of the first thirty years of their life being spent in school resulting in a career of having their professional medical opinion overridden by the regulations of bureaucrats?
Do you think you will see an increase in enrollments toward becoming a "rich bastard" doctor when the plan is to dump as much of the expense of this scam as possible onto those within the "rich bastard" pay scale?
Do you think increasing the the patient load while decreasing the number of qualified doctors will improve the standard of treatment?
Do you think it is cool to throw around class warfare slogans, honestly believing that a man who wishes to keep what he has earned for himself is greedy, while someone who wishes to see such a man's finances extorted by the state as a proxy to putting it into his own pocket is virtuous?
Do you think it is rad for Zoomie to echo your sentiments, while he simultaneously employs illegal immigrants at slave-labor wages?
Do you believe Zoomie should be legally required to pay for his super-secret employees' health insurance? Do you think Zoomie is, by comparison to them, a "rich bastard"?
Explicit empowerment within the Constitution isn't required for the federal government's every act. If you remember back to grade 8 civics, we live in a democratic society in which elected representatives legislate on our behalf in order to enact new acts and laws which, provided they aren't prohibited by the constitution, become the law of the land. In this sense federal law draws from the demos - the people. Americans overwhelmingly elected left-leaning Democrats into office. The American public has spoken. Is it your argument that any degree of government control overhealthcare is unconstitutional? If so, please point out where in the constitution it is prohibited so the democratically elected representatives can begin work on drafting an Amendment..
Is fifty-three percent overwhelming? Does it continue to be overwhelming now that so many of the moderates who bought into his farce of being a centrist are abandoning him wholesale?

Do you think it is awesome for a president to still be constantly in campaign mode almost a year into his term? Do you think it is awesome that, even with a fawning media and a program of constant speech-giving (replete with the soothing, very nearly hypnotic Teleprompter Bob-and-Weave), this president's approval rating has been dropping at a record-setting rate?
Are you familiar with this:
Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes;
To establish a uniform rule of naturalization, and uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies throughout the United States;
To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;
Ever heard of this man, and his right-wing fascist national socialist slander:
"To take["general welfare"] in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators..."
"If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands; they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provision of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, every thing, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress.... Were the power of Congress to be established in the latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America."
-
Do you seriously believe that giving everyone within the united states "free" healthcare is not going to see an increase in people showing up at the hospital or doctor's office for utterly stupid little matters? Wait... isn't your whole idea to dump 47 million more people into the medical field's work load?
Of course. More people eligible for medial services will mean more people getting medical services. That's simple mathematics, something I don't normally do, but anything for you, pookie.
Do you seriously believe that doctors will enjoy seeing the culmination of the first thirty years of their life being spent in school resulting in a career of having their professional medical opinion overridden by the regulations of bureaucrats?
You're stuck in the 50s if you think doctors are only in it for the money.
Do you think you will see an increase in enrollments toward becoming a "rich bastard" doctor when the plan is to dump as much of the expense of this scam as possible onto those within the "rich bastard" pay scale?
Fairness isn't getting what you want. Fairness is getting what everyone else has.
Do you think increasing the the patient load while decreasing the number of qualified doctors will improve the standard of treatment?
This is yet to be seen, but I'd like to point out that you're stuck in the 50s if you think doctors are only in it for the money and fairness isn't getting what you want. Fairness is getting what everyone else has.
Do you think it is cool to throw around class warfare slogans, honestly believing that a man who wishes to keep what he has earned for himself is greedy, while someone who wishes to see such a man's finances extorted by the state as a proxy to putting it into his own pocket is virtuous?
Fuck you, whitey.
HAHAHAHAHA! Oh man, you've never been to my house, you've never been on my job, you have no sense of humor and you haven't a clue what you're saying.
But for the record, I made (not claimed, MADE) less than $20,000.00 in 2008, I paid taxes on every penny I made, any and all of my employees are documented taxpayers and legally in this country and I have about fourteen bucks in the bank right now. And I will open my books to whatever attack you deem appropriate. Also for the record, my mortgage and MOST of my bills are paid and on time (of late, anyway) and I'm basically at the poverty level for two reasons: 1. I know how to survive here and 2. Conservative fuckheads like you were in charge for 8 years.
Oh and my occasional foreman Manuel is from Peru and lives in a 3500sf house inside the beltway in the upscale suburbs of Northern Virginia because he's a rich bitch's boytoy. His helper Erik is from El Salvador and owns five rental properties, also in Northern Virginia. My team leader David lives in an RV in his mother's back yard and his partner Scott owns a nice house in White Marsh but he's going to lose it because his wife is about to be institutionalized and he will have to take care of their kids full time, with no job. All of them made 2-3 times what I made last year and all of them provide their own healthcare (except David, he has medicare). I have shitty managed healthcare from Kaiser-Permenente for which my wife pays dearly.
So do me a big favor, next time you're in Jersey, fall out of a tall window with Brook in your arms. Just like her, you don't know anything about me, dickwad.
-
I got Myspace, built a page and never use it. It's basically a place where I ignore old girlfriends and stalkers.
I built and lost a couple empires, now I play with sailboats and occasionally take a job using Mexicans as slave labor to build hotels. I get paid $10,000.00 per month and I pay them $4/hour.
It's a living.
-
Yes? And? I knew exactly where you got those quotes. You believe everything you read here? So you think Mosh walks around with electrodes on his nuts, Thrash doesn't mind a cock in his rectum on occasion and we all hate Lothar's band.
You're a moron.
-
Is perception, or is perception not, the truth?
What is the perception of the word "is"?
-
we all hate Lothar's band.
OK that one is mostly true, but hate is such a strong word...
-
Is perception, or is perception not, the truth?
What is the perception of the word "is"?
OK Balor, your perception apparently is that everything posted on Loaded-Gun.com is factual.
So I was correct, you're a moron.
-
Does it take a moron to refuse to recognize the possibility that someone who makes $10,000 a year might be as envious of the wealth possessed by a man who earns $20,000 a year, as that man is of someone who pays taxes on $100,000 a year?
-
I don't waste my time counting other people's money. Apparently you do.
Oh, and you can ask Mosh, eitje, Lucky, Emp, Geek, or Chi. My home is one step above a Unabomber shack in a ghetto neighborhood. But it's MINE. I could do better but why bother, we're all pretty much fucked anyway, right?
-
-
You don't waste your time counting other peoples' money, but you feel your efforts are well spent calling for them to be stripped of it?
-
Fair isn't getting what you want. Fair is getting what everyone else is given.
I'm going to go back to work sanding on a boat hull, for which you will eventually put forth tax dollars to pay for my medical care when I contract something chronic and terminal in my upper respiratory system.
I'd have a regular job but your heroes fucked our economy and there aren't any.
-
Doctors are already hamstrung in their decision making ability by private insurance companies (see above, they don't want interference from insurance companies OR government bureaucrats in decision making) and by being forced to provide defensive testing/procedures to protect themselves against lawsuits.
So we should make it worse?

I hate to break it to you, but Madison's view of limited federal government died a long, long time ago. The downward spiral away from limited federal government started pretty much as soon as it opened for business.
So it isn't rape, if she's not a virgin?
-
Fair is getting what everyone else is given.
So is it fair to tax one part of the electorate at a different rate than another part of the electorate, because they earn more?
Is it fair for Obama and congressional Democrats to get the best healthcare our taxes can buy, and for the rest of us to be forced into waiting for whatever the state's cost-benefit analysis permits us... if it permits us anything at all?
-
If you've stopped re-percieving the truth at me to go and work on your boat ten minutes ago, why are you still "Viewing the topic Final Itinerary"?
-
Why are you and your fellow travelers so hostile to myself, and millions of other Americans, for "speaking truth to power"?

Is everything with you people a lie, or is it just the convenient lies that are the truth?
-
"You people"?!
What do you mean, "you people"?
-
Fair is getting what everyone else is given.
So is it fair to tax one part of the electorate at a different rate than another part of the electorate, because they earn more?
Apparently someone isn't reading the tax code because that's how is't been since the inception of the IRS and the wage .vs tax scale.
The difference is that the rich tend to find more loopholes. Which historically causes revolutions and beheadings, but whatever.
-
If you've stopped re-percieving the truth at me to go and work on your boat ten minutes ago, why are you still "Viewing the topic Final Itinerary"?
It's entirely possible that it shows my activity on L-G for 15 minutes after I've left. But at least I'm not some big, scary pussy who for some reason finds it necessary to hide behind anonymity on the internet.
-
Why do you feel the need to answer a question about your self-contradicting proclamations with a facade of believing I don't know how crooked the IRS is?
Are you suggesting I should walk to your house before typing out my responses to your flim-flam?
Are you inviting me to a LAN party, or is this another "lie"?
If it isn't another "lie", will it become a lie at some point between now and the posting of your own response?
-
I'm eating my rice gruel. Shouldn't you be out lynching someone or whatever it is that you do?
-
Isn't that a rather racist statement, racist?
-
Is that your perception? Because I know that to someone with your keen and sharpened animal senses, perception is everything.
-
Do you agree that it is wrong for a man to stand in front of the polls on election day, waving a billy club and telling voters they are about to be "ruled" by a member of their own race?
Do you agree that it may be racist for an attorney general of the same ethnic group to excuse that person and his accomplices, reversing all legal precedent?
How do you feel about the statement, "typical black person"?
How do you feel about the statement, "typical white person"?
Do you agree that it is suspicious that an organization which the president established training standards for has been repeatedly caught committing voter fraud in favor of his own political party?
Do you agree that it is suspicious that this same organization received massive taxpayer funding in the bill rushed through the legislature by that same president?
Do you wonder about an organization which gets caught advising a pimp about financial matters regarding under-aged girls?
Do you agree that when that organization claims the incident never happened, then in the next breath that it was an isolated incident, that they are lying to you?
Do you further question their veracity when more videos of similar isolated incidents (which never happened) begin appearing?
Do you ever wonder what sort of man encourages such an organization after having been up to his neck in it?
For how many years can you attend the sermons of a vitriolic racist, and not hear them?
-

Wait, their race or my race? Anyway, much like me, you're paying attention to nutjobs.
Do you agree that it may be racist for an attorney general of the same ethnic group to excuse that person and his accomplices, reversing all legal precedent?
non sequitur since the previous president as governor sent more young BLACK men off for lethal injection than any other, and now some of them have been proven innocent by DNA evidence. Guess I'm not the only one subscribing to party bullshit.

I am not aware of any of these incidents. Feel free to educate me. Just don't expect me to believe your version of the truth.
For how many years can you attend the sermons of a vitriolic racist, and not hear them?
I don't know.
How many roads must a man walk down, before you will call him a man?
And how many seas must a white dive sail before she sleeps in the sand?
And how many times must the cannon balls fly before they're forever banned?
You seem to be quite tied up in race and who is and isn't a racist, there whitey. Work on that, huh?
-
Damn negroes, always keepin' the white man down. Shiiiiit.
-
Anyway, much like me, you're paying attention to nutjobs.
So you are finally admitting to yourself that Obama is a pathological narcissist?

Are you suggesting Bush sat on the juries of all those convicted of murder? Are you suggesting Bush was the presiding judge in those cases? Are you suggesting Bush was responsible for those murders being committed, and therefore the police seeking out suspects? Are you suggesting Bush was the arresting officer?
Are you really seriously suggesting that this bears any equivalence to overturning cases of widely witnessed illegal acts lost in court due to the accused failing to even show up at court?
I am not aware of any of these incidents. Feel free to educate me. Just don't expect me to believe your version of the truth.
Do you agree that your ignorance might perhaps be due to the considerable leftist slant of the majority of news media, which are for the most part choosing not to report this story?

You seem to be quite tied up in race and who is and isn't a racist, there whitey. Work on that, huh?
Aren't you are the one who originally brought up racism in another thread by accusing myself of opposing your idol on supposed racial grounds.
What about your statements regarding what you alleged were racially motivated distasteful expressions by congressmen as Obama read the nation a cavalcade of lies from his teleprompter?
Wouldn't it seem that you are the one obviously obsessed with race, to the degree that your first reaction to questioning Obama's motives is to accuse those "speaking truth to power" of racism?
I asked you about race only to establish just where there line is drawn. Just where is that line drawn? Is it wherever you please, in the moment? Is it wherever suits you?
-
When I said nutjob I meant you.
I don't watch television or read newspapers or magazines so I wouldn't know what is being slanted and what isn't.
If you don't know what is and what isn't racist you are one.

Do you truly believe that dog will hunt?

Just the facts, man.

So, although it may be false, you will nonetheless claim that it is "accurate"?

All three of those statements are in fact true.
I was talking about you.
I don't get my news from TV or newspapers.
And at your age if you don't know what racism is, you are one.

Plus 1 fuckwit point for defending George Bush. I don't care how you feel about your current leader's health care plan, nobody with your intelligence should be in that fool's corner

Doctors are already hamstrung in their decision making ability by private insurance companies (see above, they don't want interference from insurance companies OR government bureaucrats in decision making) and by being forced to provide defensive testing/procedures to protect themselves against lawsuits.
So we should make it worse?
It depends on how it's implemented. Comparative effectiveness can be a good tool - if a fancy new antibiotic isn't as effective as plain old penicillin for a particular infection for example, that's a good thing for a doctor to know. If two treatments are comparable, it would be nice to have data to combat bias towards technology and pick the cheaper treatment.
If you start giving the government a say in refusing or mandating treatments based on cost, then I would find it unacceptable. That seems to be the divide in what I've read about doctor's opinions - tools to help make decisions are nice. Administrators deciding that they're going to interject themselves into the decision making is not so nice. It's the problem they have with insurance companies now.
But I'm not really out to defend whatever the Obama administration is putting forward. I think health care reform is an issue that must be tackled but I think both sides of the debate are dicks and unwilling to betray the lobby groups that would let them write an effective bill.
I hate to break it to you, but Madison's view of limited federal government died a long, long time ago. The downward spiral away from limited federal government started pretty much as soon as it opened for business.
So it isn't rape, if she's not a virgin?
Nope. just means that Madison's views didn't win in the final direction of the country. There were a variety of views about what various aspects of the constitution meant. Madison had a very different view from Hamilton on the meaning of the General Welfare clause, for example. Hamilton's view won out when it finally ended up in the Supreme Court.

I'm not necessarily backing the current plan on the floor. My point is that this visceral reaction to anything Ann Coulter brands as socialist is uncalled for. There are ways to make universal government health-care work if we're willing to compromise, if we have a shred of compassion, and if we think with our brains instead of our guts.
I think you totally missed my point about how the 47 million currently go to the hospital to wear down the harried ER staff because they have no health insurance but need care. I think you missed my argument that these "free" ER visits are currently paid for by those who do have insurance in the form of higher premiums. My point here was that by giving the 47 million a government plan and letting them go to the doctor's office instead of the ER, the ER would not have to charge the insured as much, premiums would go down, and they would be replaced by taxes used to support the public plan. Basically it's a reshuffling of resources into the most natural and useful orientation.
The arguments about doctors getting all sad because taxes will hit them harder for being richer then us and that this depression would cause them to stop working so hard so they could slip down into the comfortable tax brackets that the folks who live in trailer parks dwell in is insane. You're not alone in this view at all. This seems to be the whole right wing tax theory. I just don't believe it for a minute. My impression is that higher taxes reduce incentive but absolutely do not provide disincentive. Apart from the gentle sarcasm, am I misstating it? Isn't the idea that if taxes hit you harder as you get richer then you'll just decide to stop getting richer in revenge/depression?
Is fifty-three percent overwhelming? ... [http://www.rasmussenreports.com], [http://www.rasmussenreports.com], [http://www.rasmussenreports.com]
I was talking about 2006. Also: Rasmussen (http://projects.publicintegrity.org/consultants/list.aspx?act=conDetail&id=122002). I didn't cherry pick the polls I referenced. I gave 1 left, 1 right, and 2 middle views. All agree that there are more that want some kind of public program that that don't.
Are you familiar with this:
Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes . . . to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States
I see no prohibition of public welfare options. I do see entitlement to impose it, though.
Anyway this is getting insane. I have no time for this any more. I'm tapping out.

Bill Clinton never got this much hate, must have been the smiling white mug.
I'm going to duck out of this thread too, because it's just name-calling now. However from a fiscal point of view your country needs to do something about health care. Too many people making too much money, and not enough sick get healed. This will sink what is left of the US economy if it does not get fixed. I like that your president had the balls to take this on.
-
I wish people talked about Gordon Brown.
He's just not interesting enough.
Damn one eyed scots.
The devil wears Pravda.....on his cock.
You really shouldn't know that.
-
Bill Clinton got plenty of hate, and is widely known as a sleeze in the US.
Obama is being opposed in direct proportion to his and congressional Democrats' attempts to turn this country into their statist social experiment.
Balls? BALLS? Yeah, it takes a lot balls to tell Israelis' they shouldn't build houses on their own land in one breath, then in the next that you don't want to butt in on Iran's internal matters as the Islamist government massacres protesters, and then in the next breath condemn Honduras and attempt to bully it into readmitting a would-be dictator-for-life backed by dictator-for-life Chavez and his mentor, dictator-for-life Castro.
In other news, Obama's precious ACORN is apparently about to explode as more tapes revealing their utter corruption are coming out. Don't hold your breath on getting any shocking exposes from the usual suspects. In fact, I believe NBC is still trying to vilify those who went undercover.
As for health care:
Perhaps those interested in insurance reform should first understand why millions of Americans are uninsured in the first place, and to identify who of those cannot afford current health insurance plans. Of the 47 million uninsured, the U.S. Census Bureau notes that almost 10 million are not U.S. citizens, many of whom are illegally in the country. Another 15 million adults do not need significant insurance reform, because they are already fully eligible for Medicaid or Medicare but simply have not signed up, and will be enrolled as soon as they interface with the medical system. And nearly three quarters (74%) of the 8 million uninsured children are already eligible for Medicaid or SCHIP, according to the Urban Institute.
This leaves us with 13.9 million non-elderly adults (only 5% of the population, by the way) without health insurance who do not already qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. Of these, Blue Cross Blue Shield estimated that 8.2 million are without insurance for prolonged periods of time, mainly due to lack of affordability, while 5.7 million adults lack health insurance for short periods because they are either between jobs, are recent college graduates, are part-time seasonal workers or have no perceived need for insurance.
So let's focus on these roughly 14 million Americans who are uninsured, for prolonged periods or otherwise, because they either cannot afford it, or they opt to not purchase it, presumably because they do not view it as good value for their money. Even though 9 million of these live in families with incomes greater than three times poverty level, or over roughly $60,000 per year, it always has been up to American consumers to decide for themselves if something is "affordable" or not. The goal is to reform health insurance markets so that health insurance is made more affordable, so that it may be purchased because individuals themselves determine it is worth spending their money on.

Are you seriously arguing that would be a really keen idea for Israel to abandon the high ground that gives them radar over Syria (and thus discouraging another attempt at invasion), and just twiddle their thumbs as the self-exiled Jordanians (you would call them "Palestinians") set up artillery in the hills to rain down on the Jews they have sworn to annihilate, and possibly cut-off or poison one of Israel's main water sources?
What is it that is so unique about Israel, that when they are threatened with invasion by another nation, and capture land from the aggressor, they are by some contortion of culpability accused of aggression and thievery?
You want to talk historical time lines?
Okay:
"Judea" is the word from which we get "Jew", if you were not already aware.
The "Pillistines", from which we later got "Palestine" were Hellenic colonists, who were later wiped out by the Phoenicians. Ironic, since the very name "Phillistine" essentially means "invader".
Get that? No Palestinians. They're dead. Have been for thousands of years.
The exile Jordanians, who exiled themselves right before the rest of the Arabs attempted to invade Israel on the promise that after the genocide they could come back and reclaim the lands they abandoned, and in some cases even sold to Israelis before leaving, have no cultural, genetic, or historic connection to the long-dead Palestinians.
The only connection that they do have is in that the Romans, to punish rebelious Judeans, at one point renamed the province of Judea "Palestine", saying a big fuck you to their cultural identity. The British later, unwittingly, labeled Israel "Palestine" when they were carving up their own maps. Those who call themselves "Palestinians" today are nothing more than the descendants of Jordanian immigrant workers who migrated to Israel because there was work there, then ran off when they were given a chance to profit from fucking over a bunch of Jews from the Dar-al Harb.
Their little gambit didn't pan out quite as expected, and the rest is history... or should I say the rewriting of history to fit into a pro-jihad narrative, along with some Marxist angles tossed in during the 70's to gain sympathy with naive Westerners.
PS- Jordanian flag:

-
Canaanites. Moron. Predate Jews. End of story.
-
Oh Jesus, now you've gone full blown retarded.
The "Canaanites" were the Phoenicians. Still not Jordanian.
You're in Australia, right?
And white?
Get the fuck out, occupier.
-
And don't think you can go back to Ireland, either. That belongs to the Fomorians, you foreign aggressor!
-
No. The Phoenicians were a sub group of the Canaanites.
Where do you live?
-
The Phoenicians were the Canaanites and the Canaanites were the Phoenicians.
It should be noted that the Phoenicians' power peaked after Israel came into being.
Carthage, a colony built in Africa and which warred with the Romans, was Phoenician, for example.
Now are you going to pretend I was serious in telling you to get out of Australia?
You were the one making the kind of argument which would by extension justify the UN and/or Obama dictating that you must leave your home and return it to the Aborigines.
-
Not something I have a problem with.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_title (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_title)
Native title is "the recognition by Australian law that some Indigenous people have rights and interests to their land that come from their traditional laws and customs".[1] The concept recognises in certain cases there was and is a continued beneficial legal interest in land held by local Indigenous Australians which survived the acquisition of title to the land by the Crown at the time that the Crown acquired sovereignty of Australia.
-
So, if they adopted the same tactics as the Jordanian exiles... who aren't even a proper parallel since they aren't native, but which I am using to entertain you; indoctrinating their children into a rabid, genocidal hatred for whites, sending suicide bombers into markets and schools, dropping artillery on populated areas... you'd be cool with that? You'd be cool with them if they desired to remake Australia as a nation ruled under a tribal law which called for the murder of women who "allow" themselves to be raped? One in which all those unwilling to convert to aboriginal religions were forced to pay a "protection" tax? One in which your legal rights would be somewhere between that of a dog's and a woman's (a woman's being the lesser of the two)? You would be cool if they came to your house, specifically, put a gun to your head, and said "This is my house now. Your things ar emine. Get out."?
-
Not something I have to worry about, strawman.
-
That is not a strawman argument. That is the "Palestinian" argument.
...and you're right, it's not something you have to worry about, which is why you have the luxury of being a hypocrite.
-
It strawman in the context you used it.
How do you feel about Israel having the lagest armed forces in the region and their need ( as you put it ) for the land they have occupied, to keep themselves safe ?
-
No, it is not. I was simply testing your objectivity, and it turned out you had none.
I think Isreal's rather sizable IDF is the natural result of being a non-Muslim, and more specifically, largely Jewish* nation, surrounded largely by Islamic states (pus one Baathist).
Islam is a cult of proselytic violence and oppression. Islamic states are proselytic and violent. Jews, having resisted Muhammad's tyranical conquest of the Middle East, have always been a favorite target of Islam. You are aware that a good portion of the current Israeli populace is made up of Jews who are refugees from Islamic nations who robbed them of all their possessions and then drove them out at the point of a bayonet, aren't you?
* There are Israeli Muslims, you know. They enjoy more freedom in Israel than Muslims do in Islamic nations. They serve in the IDF just like everyone else. The IDF's scouts are in fact traditionally made up entirely of men who come from an Islamic, nomadic tribe. Then there are the Druze, who make up a disproportionately large part of the IDF's most elite soldiers.
-
Let's see, I was yesterday, Brian is on today...
Emp, you have Balor duty tomorrow. Be ready.

No. I suplied a reason as to why I dont have to 'go home'. You inturn replied with hypothetical which could never happen. or a strawman.

Pssht. I'm not getting suckered into arguments about Israel.

Yesterday was healthcare, today is the right of Israel to exist, tomorrow is whatever you want to pull out of your ass.

Israel has a disproportionately large military because it needs one to survive. Do I need to make it any clearer?
As for your claim that they have the largest military in the Middle East:
active reserve
Iran 845,000 1,145,000
Turkey 514,850 380,000
Egypt 450,000 254,000
Syria 296,000 132,500
Iraq 273,618 0
Saudi Arabia 199,500 20,000
Greece 177,600 291,000
Israel 176,500 445,000
Note that I included Greece just for illustration: We all know what a powerhouse they are.
Per capita Israel has more active and in reserve than anyone else in the ME, yet still fewer than say, South Korea.
-
Yeah, Zoomie, and last week I was an antisemitie, and this week I'm a racist.
What are you going to pull out of your ass next?

stuff he typed/pasted

I believe Ghandi also suggested Hitler could be reasoned with via nonviolent protest and, uh, there was something along the lines of "Fuck kafirs," too.
-
Yes Wozza, that came before the question.
Now ... add the 'largest armed forces in the region' to your belief they 'need' the land and give your opinion.
-
Without the Golan Heights they have a massive radar-blocking wall which gives Syria a free pass on another invasion.
Without settlements on the Golan Heights Hamas has a free pass to drop artillery fire into Israel.
How is that so difficult to grasp? Is it simply because you do not wish to?
Why do you repeatedly lie about Israel "having the largest military"?
-
Here's what we can argue about:
I don't want the government to contribute anything to the interstate system. I think it biases the transportation market towards tractor trailers.
-
Tractor trailers kill unicorns, which is bad.
-
Without the Golan Heights they have a massive radar-blocking wall which gives Syria a free pass on another invasion.
So that's why they are buliding houses on it ?
Without settlements on the Golan Heights Hamas has a free pass to drop artillery fire into Israel.
So having people living there will stop the other people from killing people ? interesting tactic.
Why do you repeatedly lie about Israel "having the largest military"?
I'll give you this one. They are just the best equipped, negating the need for the land grab.
-
Yes and white people used to own and treat black people like slaves sousing this logic it would be totally OK for them to round up whitey and sell him to Hungarian slave merchants. And line the gimpy ones up against a wall and waste a bullet on them, of course.

Just a minor point of order. The clown circus can recommence now.
-
So if you have a large, well equipped military, leaving a glaring blind spot all along one border is good defensive planning?
If you have a large, well equipped military, rockets dropped on your cities by terrorists will... what, just fizzle out and spit out a flag that says "BOOM!", instead of killing people?
And no, they do not build houses in Golan to act as radar arrays. They build radar arrays to act as radar arrays.
-

about as good as letting your people build house on it when you know it's going to cause shit globaly AND put the aforementioned people at mortal risk AND all the rest of your people.
and Israel has access to the USA def sat network. I rather sure somebody would call if they noticed an army marching up the hill.
-
-
Has Syria made a second attempt at invasion?
Hamas and Hezbollah do not give shit what concessions anyone makes in their favor. Regardless of whatever cards they may play to manipulate sympathy out of the international community, they are ultimately driven by Muslim-supremacist ideology. If you give them something, they will only see it as a sign of your weakness begin grabbing for more. The Hamas charter specifically calls for wiping Israel off the map. You can choose to play their fool, if you wish, but do not expect me to condone it.
-
Somebody not doing something is not proof your deterrent is working.
-
Christ, I pull one ethnic group out of my ass and there's gotta be one of 'em here...
-
I would say that the if the cost of learning is having your country invaded, it's better to play it fucking safe.
That's like saying, "Well, no one has broke into my home and raped my daughter since that last time, I guess it's okay if I sell the dog and remove the locks."
-
but they are not playing it safe. they are pissing off the people (countries) that have supported them in the past by continuing to build.
-
They are pissing off the leaders of vaguely allied nations who are asking them to undermine the safety and security of their own citizens to indulge the desires of their sworn enemies.
-
Sweet. With any luck we can wipe the fuckers out by 2020.
-
Just like Hitler and Muhammad always dreamed...
-
of course, they would have these safety and security issues if they stoped trying to expand and try to play nice. you know, like not killing all them people who lived in 'Israel' when they were given the land after the war.
-
Or the other land they took by force because they said it was rightfully theirs. Like Argentina in the Falklands, Iraq in Kuwait, etc etc ad nauseum...

If a guy used a crumb of logic, your double negative would cancel out, and we'd have:
Somebody not doing something is not proof your deterrent is working.

Tractor trailers kill unicorns, which is bad.
Sorry Zoomie, it didn't work.
I actually do believe, ideologically, that we would have better options than we do currently if the government stayed out of most markets (including the biases created in transportation choice, which I didn't throw out there as a joke) and simply served as a referee to prevent excesses & bust up monopolies.
I just don't think it's possible within the framework we've built in the past couple hundred years, but in particular due to the excesses since WW2 as part of playing global superhero.
-
Yeah. He was right anyway. Tractor-trailers do kill unicorns.

No, Turkish. But even then, only maybe.
It's wonderful to see what sort of people you align yourselves with
Not blindly defending Israel's every move as right doesn't mean that they're the only ones who are wrong.
I have not blindly defended Israel's every move. I have argued against those here who blindly condemn Israel, however, by stating that Syria somehow has a "right" to lands they lost when their attempt to invade and destroy Israel failed, or that the Jordanian immigrants who abandoned and sold off their lands in Israel in the hopes that they could reclaim them and more, for free, after invading Arab armies had fullfilled their promise to kill all the Jews in Israel, have any sort of mandate to break off a piece of Israel.
I will not, for example, defend Israel selling American military secrets to China, as it was both immoral and myopic.
And although I can guess at their reasoning behind it (hint: New York Times, Bay of Pigs) I will not defend Israel attacking the Liberty.
The clusterfuck over Shebaa Farms I won't lay at the feet of Israel, but I won't blame it entirely on Lebanon or Syria either. The "international community" can own the bulk of that mess, as they refuse to officially recognize Israel captured Shebaa Farms from Syria rather than Lebanon.
-
Geez, I thought you people were all about personal responsibility.
-
-
Geez, I thought you people were all about personal responsibility.
If the international community refuses to recognize Israel captured Shebaa Farms from Syria, they can hardly return it to Syria, nor can Syria accept it, without an even worse mess being created. Everyone there knows who it originally belonged to, and that Hezbollah is full of it, but no one can do anything about it.

How the fuck are the Golan Heights, land captured from Syria after they attempted to invade and destroy Israel "occupied land".

I would like to see an example of this.

If they persist after that, then all out war.
I got a personal visit from the SS for that.
They allowed the jews to live amongst them for several hundred years after they kicked the christians the fuck out. And with very little conflict.
I don't believe much of anything we are supposed to believe about the Muslims. Their ideas should be considered as relevant only when considering foreign matters or esoteric observations of human nature but
You I and the rest of us currently face no serious danger from their philosophy other than the remote odd man criminal aspect, but look at the record of events and who or what group actually profited from them. every single time.

Somebody not doing something is not proof your deterrent is working.
If a guy used a crumb of logic, your double negative would cancel out, and we'd have:
Somebody not doing something is not proof your deterrent is working.
It's a poorly phrased statement, but the ol' double negative makes a positive argument is childish. That's not the intent of the statement. The rule about double negatives exists because in written language they result in unclear statements - you need intonation or surrounding context to understand the intent of the statement.
The intent of the statement was something more along the lines of:
Inactivity on the part of Syria is not sufficient evidence to prove a deterrent effect.
---
There are actually a lot of statistical studies about the deterrent effect of various measures to reduce crime. There are some very strong correlations between various factors - for example, there's less crime when there's a strong job market.
There isn't enough data to make any statements about the deterrent effect of Israel possessing a particular piece of territory - there are too many other variables to consider. You could perhaps argue that it's in their tactical interest to possess a particular piece of territory should hostilities resume in earnest.
-
Hezbollah, Westboro Baptist Church, Armed Front for the Defense of Sinhalese, Right wing hindu extremists and my baseball bat and gun toting cousins in the Jewish Defense League...

No, Zoomie... just... no.
Read the Koran, the commentaries by Muhammad's own scribes, etc. Forget all that PC "all cultures are equal" silliness.
Islam is not a religion, Islam is a personality cult created by a seizure-stricken, obsessive-compulsive, physically deformed, pathological narcissist who preached genocide, rape, torture, terrorism, the destruction of all Arabic writings preceding his ascent to power (how Orwellian), and the violent subjugation or massacre of all who refused to submit to the worship of his own delusional perception of himself as the center of all creation and the sole purpose for which his sock-puppet "god" Allah created the universe.
It should be telling that there is no one more critical or more fervent in their desire to see Islam die out than those who have left it, turning apostate at the risk of their lives. It should be telling that there is no other major religion which riots and murders en masse over a caricature of one of it's central figures or criticism of its savagery. It should be telling that before Muhammad and his Islam, women in the Middle East could go about as they pleased, own businesses and property, and have male employees. In fact, Muhammad's first wife was not only a wealthy woman, but his employer. It should be telling that the most severe restrictions on women, their veiling and cloistering, were decreed only later in Muhammad's life when one of his numerous maladies would have been rendering him physically grotesque, and oversexed yet impotent.
It should be telling that Muhammad had anyone who criticized or resisted him, both men and women, assassinated.
It should be telling that Muhammad, failing as a street-preacher, went out into the desert and garnered a following by promising bandits they would be doing "Allah"'s work (and reaping rich rewards) by making him their leader in robbing and looting caravans and villages.
It should be telling that every scrap of Islam's veneer of spirituality (which any successful cult must have) can be traced back to the pre-existing religions and philosophies in the Middle East, though Muhammad claimed them as his own revelations.
It should be telling that Abdulah ibn Sarh, one of Muhammad's own scribes, left Muhammad and Islam, in fact fleeing for his life knowing there was "no getting out", as it were, after he noticed that "Allah" changed his revelations whenever Abdulah suggested better verses.
It should be telling that Muhammad's Islam was a great influence on Adolf Hitler, and that modern Islam has taken quite a few pages from his book in turn.
But hey, if you won't take my word for it, maybe you'll pay attention to those who had the great misfortune to have been a part of Islam themselves, and the good sense to get out, though in many cases it meant risking death at the hands of complete strangers or even their own families:
http://www.faithfreedom.org/about-us/ (http://www.faithfreedom.org/about-us/)
http://www.apostatesofislam.com/ (http://www.apostatesofislam.com/)
There is no "extremist" Islam, there is only Islam.
There are no "moderate" Muslims, there are only backsliders, who will more often than not make endless excuses for the true believers, and who serve as a breeding ground for those who seek to destroy or enslave all other cultures.
-
All of which does not change one letter of FACT of my previous post. Extremism is still everywhere. Whether or not I believe your version is not relevant to those facts.
Unless of course you happen to believe that Fred Phelps is right...
-
Yeah, okay, Zoomie.
Do you seriously expect me to accept such a weak-ass statement?
When was the last time you heard about a Hassidic Jew beheading his wife, in the name of Jehovah?
When was the last time a Hindu murdered his daughter for adopting Western ways, without the slightest shred of guilt?
When was the last time Southern Baptists organized and executed a plot to kill thousands of civilians, in the name of Jesus?
When was the last time a Sikh responded to his 8 year-old daughter's gang rape with, "It was her fault"?
-
Wow. Don't get out much when FOX isn't on do you? I'll post some links later, gotta make supper...for Jesus... and my wife...

I don't have a televsion, but thanks for yet another example of your patronizing bullshit.
Enjoy your scouring of Google. It would take about thirty seconds to turn up any of these sort of things being done by Muslims... despite the fact that much of the modern media will either ignore any such stories, or run them without names or identifying the perpetrators as Muslims.

The hindu and sikh comments are funny.
India has the highest use of acid as a weapon in the world. They throw it on women and children for all sorts of reason.
oh and they do have honour killings. and yes, im talking about the hindu and sikh
and as for the baptists... pro-life. im sure they have planned bombings of clinics. getting to the point of excution, im not sure of.

And in India, acid attacks are a crime which is punished:

Unlike in much of the Islamic world, where "honor killings" are ignored.
And really? Really? How many Southern Baptists have actually committed such bombings, and what has been the reaction to them? Compare to the number of Muslim bombings and attempted attacks in India, Europe, Southeast Asia, even the US.

SO that is a yes. Okay.
I have made up my mind. Given a choice, I would rather you be dead.
-
And I would rather you pull your head out of your ass and quit making excuses for the fan club of a 7th century genocidal tyrant.
-
I think the point he's trying to make is that Islam is the only religion where the part about going out and killing the infidel isn't made up by some extremist faction, but is codified in the religion itself.
You could argue that the Jews were instructed to do so as well, but they were only commanded by god to inflict genocide on very specific groups of infidels, not the entire infidel population. But score! God let the Jews rape the plundered bitches just like the Muslims!
I'm aware of the parts of the Gospel where Jesus says he's here to make the world go crazy, but I'm not familiar with the parts where he instructs his Apostles to go out and slaughter everyone who doesn't convert. I believe that therein may lie the point he's trying to drive home.
You know, it's the little things like when your religion actually TELLS you to go killing everyone that set it apart from silly little sects like the Branch Davidians , Westboro Baptist Church, etc. And then there's that whole thing where Muslims like to kill everybody, all the time. It's a little more concerning than some silly signs about fags.
-
Whether you intended to or not, you hit the nail on the head with the Branch Davidians.
David Koresh was cut from a similar mold as Muhammad. Both were pathological narcissists who built a personality cult around themselves. Both liked to fuck children.
-
My biggest problem with Islam is that theocracies are really fucking scary and the Middle East is one Islamic theocracy after another.
-
I got bored with trolling.
-
Islam by it's own scriptures is a Theocracy.
-
And within this century, Europe will likely be the same, due to massive un-intergrating Muslim immigration and demographic collapse of the native population.
Unless there's a huge and violent backlash against the Muslims and the PC governments of Europe, which turn a blind eye to Islam.
Either way it will likely mean genocide and tyranny.
It is actually a common call from the Mosques of Europe for Muslims, employed or otherwise, to have large families and go on welfare as part of the economic jihad.
-
I'm aware of the parts of the Gospel where Jesus says he's here to make the world go crazy, but I'm not familiar with the parts where he instructs his Apostles to go out and slaughter everyone who doesn't convert.
The "make the world go crazy" was about what we would now call destroying the status quo. In his time that meant, among other things, a spiritual elite who assumed to place themselves between God and Man. Obviously this would divide loyalties and cause a great deal of strife, and hence the rant about turning father against son etc.
As for conversion, Jesus pretty clearly told his followers not to worship him. He referred to himself as the son of man as well as the son of God. The idea being, every man was a son of God, every woman a daughter.
Jesus was a profoundly different person than Muhammad, which is why worship of his person bordering on a personality cult could only form after he was dead, and why the culture which sprung from his teachings ultimately condemns the excesses of zealotry supposedly done in his name, whereas Islam either glorifies its atrocities or excuses them at a whim.
-
Islam by it's own scriptures is a Theocracy.
Which makes the rise of Sharia courts and whispers about well, maybe the secular governments in GB or elsewhere should recognize them so troublesome.
-
Once again I'm not denying anything that you've posted asshat so don't accuse me of patronizing. I'm simply saying that there's bad everywhere including stupid white kids who think they're all gangster and knife each other in the school locker room.
So you can go ahead and play your little point out the denying Socialist game, I haven't denied anything. Also I don't want to play anymore because I have a wall of old LPs and I can hear them skip from the comfort of my easy chair. I don't need your repetitive reeducation tactics.

That's adorable, Zoomie.
Almost as adorable as the way you keep giving me emo points, as if it accomplishes anything.
And you continue to ignore the point that in Islam the tyranny, misogyny, violence, and willful ignorance are design features, not bugs.

And you continue to ignore the point that in Islam the tyranny, misogyny, violence, and willful ignorance are design features, not bugs.
Dude, nobody's saying they're not. Nobody's defending Islam. Fuck Islam. They're a bunch of fucks.
But so are a lot of other people, is all.
-
Dude, nobody's saying they're not. Nobody's defending Islam. Fuck Islam. They're a bunch of fucks.
By attempting to establish a moral equivalence between Islamic culture, which is threatening to overtake Europe, destroy America, and "finish what Hitler began", and people like Southern Baptists who are absurd but largely harmless, or Hindus who don't even proselytize and who punish extremists within their midst, etc., it is like saying, "Oh, well, never mind!"
-
I think you might be an extremist.

SO that is a yes. Okay.
I have made up my mind. Given a choice, I would rather you be dead.

Why not ? You seem to pretend everything anybody else types is their truthfull opinion.

Islam is a cult of proselytic violence and oppression.
wft?
So which is it you are joking about, my deserving death, or that Islam isn't an exceptionally dangerous force in the world and a threat to humanity as a whole?
It would seem to me that you are simply changing tack now that other posters, namely Emp, Krsna, and Si, have all acknowledged that Islam is perverse and/or exceptionally dangerous.

That's adorable, Zoomie.

-
Christianity was a threat to humanity as a whole for the last 900 years so I guess it's time for another challenger.
Christianity also ran a different course than Islam.
Personally, I would take Christianity any day over Islam as a dominant world religion.
Christianity took Paul, Constantine, then a line of philosophers to create something like the doctrine of a just war out of the new testament, which is quite a feat since they even picked what books were to be included in the new testament. The rough periods of Christianity seem to be largely left behind thanks to the Western world largely adopting secular governments with freedom of religion in recent history.
The leaps to horrible acts to be made in Islam are far shorter, especially given the fractured and conflicting nature of the scholarship around it. And the rapid expansion of Islam into impoverished nations gives the extremist elements (and theocratic states) a convenient source of angry people to wage war by proxy against those things they oppose.
At this point in history, Islam is far more dangerous.

OK So its my night, time for
ZOOMIES 5 POINT PLAN TO SAVE AMERICA!!!
1. Tort Reform.
Limit lawsuits and cap awards. You can't put value on a life or a toe, so stop trying an stop giving money to the fucking lawyers.
2. Kick Out The Pharmaceutical Companies.
No more subsidization by Big Pharm of med schools. They are ensuring that doctors use their product to treat symptoms, not solve issues. This is a large part of why healthcare sucks in the US. And no more advertising. You don't go to the doctor and tell him what pill you need, he tells YOU what pill you need, if any. And no more schmoozing doctors with hot girls to get them to use their shit. Let the docs find their own whores.
3. Insurance Reform.
If I pay you $500 per month, and I develop a degenerative spinal disc issue, because my job involves heavy lifting, you can't deny me coverage because you KNEW what I did for a living, it was a pat of my enrollment package. I pay you,you cover me, end of story.
4. Campaign Finance And Lobbying Reform.
A politician's constituents are PEOPLE not INDUSTRIES. We can't get anything done when Pfizer and Kaiser and company with a couple million to toss around have our "elected officials" in their pockets. Unacceptable.
.
5. Government Reform. We have a department of health that hasn't cured a soul, a department of education that hasn't educated a child and a department of energy that not only hasn't created a single fucking calorie of energy. And that's the tip of the iceberg. Fix it or shut them down, they are just bleeding off our tax dollars and NOT DOING ANYTHING. The states should be dictating some of these policies anyway.
6. Healthcare Reform.
Finally the nut that started this. It's simple. Fix medicare. If you work, you have the choice: Private health insurance or medicare at comparable cost. If you don't work for a good reason, you and your family get medicare. If you don't work for no good reason, too fucking bad. If you're in this country illegally, tell us where you live so we can send you home to the firing squad. If you get caught stealing from all of us by cheating the system, you get 5-25 in some midwest shithole federal pen. and both systems need to mirror each other in quality. It's that simple.
And lest you think I'm "being cute" and making light of this, balor, go fuck yourself, this is honestly how I feel about it all.
PS: typing on netbook with my big fat fingers sucks balls.
-
Well. Number 6 of your 5 point plan.... Jail is expensive. SO maybe number 7 of the 5 point plan can be something about that.
-
We're talking about the Battle of Tours now, dick.
Get with the program.
PS- Charles the Hammer rules, Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi drools.
-
Ummm... huh?

You're living in the past, man. That was yesterday's hijinx. You're on my watch now, boy.
-
Oh, be that way.
1- Yes, please.
2- Maybe.
3- I'm pretty sure this is already illegal.
4- Depends on the method.
5- Away with them.
6- Don't hold your breath.
6b- Fix legal immigration process and process for migrant workers. We need them for agricultural work. The problem is at present hopping the border is the easiest way over and it's creating a huge smokescreen for the narco/white slavery cartels. No free anything for them, though, and for fuck's sake require proof of citizenship at the polls.
7- End to retarded interstate anti-competition laws on health insurance.
8- End to retarded laws dictating what "treatments" insurance companies must provide. Stop making everyone with a policy pay for every jackass who "needs" massage therapy, acupuncture, etc.
-
6b.2- If you escape from Cuba, congratulations, you are a citizen.
6b.3- If you escape from North Korea, congratulations, you are a citizen. Here is your complimentary $10,000, rifle, and dog. The Cuban girls are down at the pool.

EXCUSE ME?!?
Tru? PLEASE tell me you were drunk and/or high and/or whatever
If that isn't an Absolute SLAP IN THE FACE to Any and All Jewish People,
the EPITOME of anti-Semitisim,
i don't know what IS. Yikes.
LOL of course I was drunk. But never the less let me attempt to explain. Hitler and WWII were created-the war was actually invented-by Wall St and international bankers. (including Zionists!) There is no way Hitler could have ever waged such a war with Germany being only about the size of California without direct support from US -read that as "International Corporations" such as Standard Oil which supported Hitler throughout the war and were immune to US threats because America was also dependent on their fuel for it's war machines and a great many US industrialists such as the bush's who did get a slap on the hand, ITT, Ford and GM among others who built all of Hitlers war production plants.
(Oh did you know that after the war these corporations sued the US government for damages caused by our bombers to THEIR Nazi war production plants in Germany ... and won millions in settlements? ) They simply cannot lose!
Now beginning during the last two years of the war and culminating shortly after, the Nazi intelligence operations were in direct contact with US individuals such as the Nazi sympathizer and facilitator Allen Dulles. After the war the US helped a great many of the worst Nazis avoid prosecution for their war crimes and eventually incorporated the entire established Nazi intelligence organization mass murderers included directly into the formation of the foundation of the CIA.
It's much more complicated than simply this because the USSR was also an invention aided into existence by direct US military intervention and corporate support. The Nazi's were fighting the Russians during the war and we were fighting the Nazi's who were committing horrific war crimes against them as well and the Russians were our allies. But as with the other nations only the common people were sent to the front. So immediately after the war once the Nazi's were folded back into our global operations their fight with the Russians became OUR fight.
The corporations had profited so vastly by the wars that after WWII they needed a new boogie man and so another great scam called "The Cold War" was fabricated. There was much heated rhetoric between global "leaders" but in reality the intelligence operations between the US and the USSR were working together to play the leaders and common populations off against each other as a way of justifying the looting of both nations and as a means of taking greater control over the publics.
Ever wonder why Hitler really tried to kill so many jews? How could he have the time and resources while fighting on all fronts? Well here is my take. The Zionists and evil US interests wanted Israel established and needed a huge international outcry to accomplish it. So millions of common jews were basically sacrificed so there would be a large body count to legitimize the drive for its establishment.
But Israel was NEVER intended to be a nice homeland for the common jews. No, it was intended to become a huge concentration camp built by deluded Jews themselves and it's main purpose was simply to foment renewed conflict between the Jews and the hapless -at the time- Muslims.
You see the jewish "leaders" ARE Nazi's, have a Nazi inspired agenda and the common Jewish population ... are plain and simple ... fodder.
Like I said it's much more complicated and there is no way I can directly support these allegations on this board so make with the crazy jokes but look around and see if it doesn't make sense when trying to explain the current state of the world. The Russians finally gave up the charade because it was no longer profitable especially for them to pursue the illusion of a "Cold War" any longer.
But now the Jews and the never ending conflict Israels establishment was intended to foment are finally starting to pay off in allowing greater expansion into Arab territories and continued warfare.
For some background on these allegations read Anthony C Suttons old and extremely well researched works "Western Technology and Soviet Economic Development" , "Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution" , "Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler" and "Wall Street and FDR."
Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antony_C._Sutton) the man if you want more background on him personally. His conclusions are not directly my conclusions but based on his information I have projected my own thoughts and observations onto the matter. But Still, looking back over the decades you will find it hard to believe his information is invalid.
The pieces just fit to dam well.
I haven't mentioned his last works such as "America's Secret Establishment: An Introduction to the Order of Skull and Bones." yet where he actually starts piecing the puzzle together because people have been trained to turn their brains off whenever S&B is mentioned so I left it for last. There is far more behind all of this than simple profit. But along with greater profit and power comes a far greater ability to shape future events from behind the scenes.
Simply amazing how people can be trained to accept the most evil bastards imaginable as their pillars of society.
Maybe I haven't really explained for you what I meant but it's simply not possible to cover everything from WWI to the present in this context. You can forget most basic history books and official biographies of the people involved. They are intended to misdirect the public and glorify the evil ones.
So go ahead make with the Loon comments everyone. It doesn't bother me.

Vegies are evil.
..and their punishment is to be eaten.
WHOA, there, Nellie Belle!
i'm a southern Baptist, and although i'm pro-life, FOR MYSELF,
i can't, NOR would i WANT to,
force ANYONE to Have To Follow "My Beliefs."
We ALL make our own choices, ultimately,
and i know i keep saying this, but it's the truth:
Jesus didn't come for the righteous; He came for the sinners.
That's what you believe, you cannot speak for all baptists.

I can't get more than two sentences into a Tru rant before I start hearing it in a warbly, high-pitched, googly-eyed cartoon scientist voice.

i think it's pretty obvious that you've given this serious thought, as well as investing time into research and reading,
so any ridicule would be,
well,
ridiculous.
We believe the same things, tbh, i just believe it was a major accident/mistake IF the Jews round-aboutly funded that monstrous government.
But, yeah, The Monkey on a Leash is all these loathsome "actors" really are for TPTB
p.s. Out of respect for those who died, and even MORE to those who lived through it, however, i'll NEVER call One, the Other.
