Simply put...
Two of the most underrated bands out there...
King's X
Living Colour
Both of the latest albums are instant classics!
-
Gravity Kills
-
Living Colour, definitely.

da na na na na nah nah nah nuh nuh nuh!
da na na na na nah nah nah nuh nuh nuh!
Look in my ayeeees! What do you see?
Cult of personal-lity!
-
Kings X is playing with Porcupine Tree here soon, I think.
-
I would love to give them more airplay but my MD thinks that only what sells should be on the air.
-
did living colour have more than one song?

Was it you or Mosh who posted about Porcupine Tree on the old LG? They're great.
-
Me... Porcupine Tree are great...
I also like older Living Color... Like Bad Brains with lots of money for decent production values.
Which makes me wonder something, why dont you see more black guitar bands?
-
Bad Brains set the bar way WAY too high. Fuck i love me B Brains. +1 for mosh.

Check out Orange Sky from Trinidad and Tobago. They played through here on a North American jaunt not long ago. GREAT band!

Love Rears It's Ugly Head - Living Colour
-
Living Color isn't that underrated if you're all worshiping them, now are they?
-
They are known for one song in 1989. Their catalog is impressive from then up to the present. But they never got the credibility they deserved. That goes for SO MANY other bands. Call it over saturation if you wish, but they made art and music. Just awesome material.
-
I suppose the same thing applies for Gravity Kills. The only song people know from them is Guilty, and most people write them off as a NIN clone from the era when industrial rock was popular, and that's the farthest thing from the truth.
Oh, and I wanna mention The Ramones also. NOW they might not be underrated, being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame and all, but did you know that not one of their studio albums was even certified gold? Too bad. They left an awesome legacy though and will be remembered forever.
-
The Ramones were by far the best musical guests ever on the Simpsons.
Yeah I know that kind of cuts both ways, dunnit?
-
I haven't heard of either of these bands. I should download some stuff.
-
i liked johnny cash as the space coyote better, but as long as people want to be bummed out on the ramones (well depending on your perspective, these are my 3 favorite songs, but my friend who is a big fan was way down on it)
Ramones - 1995 - 3 Steel Reserve Ad's - AUDIO ONLY! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr2TxVuNvKE#normal)

dude, you guys are totally forgetting The Ashwednesdays!

Man, seriously.

Wow, I had no idea anyone else knew them. My lil Bajan girl introduced me to them a while back, a live concert DVD. They're good stuff. Man, I need to watch that again.
BTW, ever heard Tessanne Chin?

Yeah, I like that one song by The Ramones.

That whole episode was awesome. "Well, Chief, don't quit your day job... whatever that is."

I tried getting my MD to add it. A track like Alone or Psycho World from their latest album would fit great for our station. Or rather what it SHOULD be, but they puss out and play fucking Nickelback all damn day.
I'll look up Tessanne Chin, though.

She's pretty good, nothing like Orange Sky, but another example of a Caribbean act who might appeal to non-Caribbeans. There aren't very many of those, really.
-
How about a kiwi act that might appeal to Caribbeans?

That's one of the great things about metal. Its appeal resonates from so many parts of the globe. Regardless of where it comes from, quality metal will always be embraced by the fans. From the great Taiwanese metal band Chthonic to the Irish metallars in Cruachan to the Arab tones of Saudi group, Wasted Land.

The most underrated musician I've ever heard:
