Wasn't it only up until the mid 1970's that the actual law allowing the killing of Aborigines was actually removed from the books?

On "cultural" stuff, the US only gets blamed when someone wants to bang on about "cultural colonialism". The rest of the world actually quite likes US culture. Except for them religious nutters.

Australia, on the other hand, is following Europe's lead, and becoming a Nanny state. I'd go on about Bill Henson, or the Tote, and some of those types of things, but suffice it to say, we have religious zealots and school teachers in charge of our various governments, and they like nothing better than to tut tut about how we're not allowed to have any fun anymore.
