... is MicroSquish taking cues from Linux?
... I SWEAR, Windows 7, right to the "new taskbar", is Ubuntu
Someone back me on this ...
Windows/MS didn't combat Linux, it JOINED IT!
Windows listened to me; I made Windows
No, LINUX, and its following(s), made the new Windows ....
Anyone?

I think youre seeing MS add linux features, into Windows, faster than before.
Everybody follows Linux.

If you can't make good software then copy someone elses
my friend was raving about a new image capture tool he had found, when he (windows user) asked me (mac user) the name of the mac equivalent I said "yeah, we call it cmd+shift 4"
I'll happily use Linux next time, I like the command line interface
-
Hey, why not, worked for Apple.
I miss CLI.

I just discovered this bit of insanity myself a few weeks ago. Also isn't it cmd+shift+3? It is on my MacBook anyway.

ctrl+alt+Print Screen has been a part of Windows for ages... Nick's friend is a lil behind the times...
-
Ctrl+alt+PrintScreen?
Isn't it just PrintScreen to get a bmp into the buffer? Then Ctrl+v to paste it into paintbrush or something?
-
yeah, that works as well... depends on what youre trying to capture...
-
Printscreen does the whole screen
Using ctrl and alt means it just takes a screenshot of whatever window is open.
-
Interesting. And Cmd+shift+4 gives you a lasso for screenshotting.

After I do the above and try to cut a section out of the bmp (or anything else, including close paint)... I get an out of memory message.
Yes, Windows, for reasons only known to it, creates a 1.4gb bmp of my screen.
-
I know BMPs are generally pretty bloaty, but 1.4g is insane.

LOL
