I think it's amusing because you can basically thank 2 Republican presidents for running up the debt - everyone's hero Reagan & Bush II. Now the people that love their bullshit policies don't want to pay the bills.

Let it burn. Won't affect me. Won't affect most, if not all of you. Let it default. What could happen?
-
Economic crash? Fight Club? Tyler Durden?

In a terribly selfish sort of way I kind of would be interested in seeing what it would be like if we did default. It's like getting excited about hurricanes coming our way. I don't want it really, but if it's inevitable then I want front row seats.
For similar reasons I'm rather excited about Romney winning the nomination and losing to Obama thereby driving the Right ever further Right. It will truly be a force to behold then.

heh.... I been saying for years that Bush II was about as conservative as a spendthrift... the "conservatives" fleeced you out of the pile of YOUR money that was built up by the previous administration, and these guys want you to believe they have the economic credibility to make you all rich again?
I'm sorry, but that's fucking hilarious.

Fucking hell, I wanna move so badly now, anywhere else, but every democrat that leaves Texas is one less person voting for sanity in this state.
From the way I understand the electoral voting system, it's based on the number of votes cast in each given state. So say that the popular vote in Texas is composed of 48% democrats and 52% republicans, Texas elects persons to cast votes in the presidential bid for the popular candidate. The whole state goes to the Republican candidate as a result.
If a person wants to tip the scales in favor of a political party then they should move to a state that supports that person's ideal party line.

Yeah, well I'm broke and don't have the money to move, anyway. That's the other reason.
