Maybe, ...

I think I will check into the cost of having an Alaskan  Dream cacher done on my left shoulder.

For my late sister.

That's so Wanda Sykes...

Wanda Sykes is the skinny black woman actor/comedian right?

Is that supposed to be a put down because I don't get it.

Anyway I don't care, I picked up a sweet black Jag Xj6 in good working order today for a song and the body and paint are almost perfect so I'm happy.

Might get a Jaguar theme tattoo instead. Man tattoos are expensive these days aren't they.

It's the perfect car for a crazy cat man! LOL

It runs really good, goes like a bat out of hell and stops on a dime. Engine is strong and quiet. ABS and traction control on-board. Has a lot of minor issues, some of the door handles don't work from the outside, it has a missing blinker fixture on the front left. It may need a battery before long, not sure about that. It has started every time so far. Has the upgraded genuine Jaguar alloy wheels that look great and nearly new tires. Power heated leather seats, tilt wheel. Basically it's a beautiful car in very good condition.

Going in on Monday to start getting all the DMV paperwork started. I have the pink. My only real concern is going to be Ca.smog. It's been a while since it was last registered. Doesn't smoke at all though, seems to run nice and clean. I may do plugs, air filter and oil change before I take it in. I have seen several of this model with a flat badge on the hood around town instead of the ornament, mine has the kitty ornament. It's the coolest part! LOL

Soon, no way to get good pics where it is currently parked. Let me get it legally on the road first.

I just noticed it has a deep cycle marine battery, not the perfect choice for cranking.

None of the power windows work except the drivers door, the power mirror doesn't work either, Obviously it has some electrical issues.

It looks much like this except in basic black
(http://cimg.carsforsale.com/375872/SAJHW174XPC681326_1.jpg) and with different wheels.

I never heard of that stuff, but there are youtubes on it so it has a following.

My ex wife's Mitsubishi, the car I gave her, had almost non registrable levels of co2 and nox last time. The guy at the shop was amazed at how clean it was.

I hope this Jag can do half as well.

Man I wish this one had the round glass headlights. They are so much more classy.

Found a good source for the interior, only cost about $700 to redo the entire interior. It's in tan leather right now but with the black exterior a black and red interior would look much better. Thinking of spraying the carpets to make them look black and getting a custom set of red floor mats to take the wear. All other interior tan trim pieces just get painted black.

I've seen  some of these with the plastic lenses removed and they look pretty cool. Not as cool as the base UK model for that year but still.

Thanks, it still needs some work but by the end of the week it will be insured and my old 61 Falcon will go back in the back yard registered Non Op for another 6-10 years. This time I plan to build an enclosure around it. Not a garage exactly but I will block the wheels up off the ground and cover it.

That Falcon has been amazingly dependable, I mean after sitting 6 years  in two different yards all I did was put in fresh gas and a new battery. (oh and I had to replace the rear brake shoes and some tires) It starts right the fuck up, like with only a tap of the key. Sometimes you don't even realize the engine has cranked all the way over even once and it's already running. I really like that about that old car. And it only has the standard point based ignition system it came out with.

I'm actually going to miss it, but the new car is more suited for high speed highway trips and such that I wouldn't have felt comfortable taking the Falcon on.

Thats how i feel about my 20 year old Accord. Its my second Accord and third Honda and even though it almost stranded me in NC, its still running strong at 350,000 miles.

I bought a nine year old Integra in 2003. I was 21, it was my first really quick car, and I lived on an island that for all intents and purposes has no speed limits, no chance of getting pulled over for reckless driving, and no drink driving laws. You can imagine the abuse I put that car through. For the first few years I was buying new front tyres every 6-7 months, and front brake pads every 4-5 months. I regularly got the front rotors glowing white hot, and to this day the car and I have a reputation on the island as a "serious ting".

I didn't sell it when I left. I left it there for my sister to use and for me to use when I go back, because it doesn't look great anymore and it's 19 years old, so it's worth more to me to keep it than I would have gotten for selling it. It still runs fucking awesome.

Hondas are the shit.

Hondas and Toyotas are the shit to me ....
I had a mid-80s Chevy Cavalier that was awesome as well ...

Well it turned out the Jag had a serious engine problem that was going to cost more than the resale street value of that model in excellent condition so I had to send it back. A problem that only showed up after a few weeks of driving but one that literally doomed it without proper repair. Unfortunately now going into winter I have no car at all. I could put the Falcon back on the road but I really wanted to save it as is and don't really want to put it back on the road at this time so I am kind of fucked.

I really need a pick up, it doesn't have to look nice it just has to run well. That's what I am looking for now. The Jag wasn't really my idea, it was offered in a can't refuse situation, still didn't cost me much to have it and lose it. I broke even. (except for not having a legal car now) still a shame because it was a nice project car and even with the engine problem ran great. For now, wouldn't have lasted.

At least I can say I owned one. Even though the company was sold to ford in the early 90's and is now owned by a company from India.

I'm soon gonna give the M3 to my dad and buy an estate. Luckily there are some pretty fun estates for sale in this country, since it's a popular type of car.

Dude, that completes the transformation of Si from PFR to domesticated. The station wagon is the deathknell.

I think you might be able to get a Vauxhall VXR8 Sportswagon there. If not you can certainly get a Maloo Ute.

What's the engine problem?

It needed a head gasket and resurfacing, but that engine has dual over head cams complicating things and it would have cost $3000 to have it fixed. I'm just not up to doing that kind of work myself any more.
The problem didn't show up for a few weeks but it started having a problem with hydro-lock(*) in the mornings and when I checked the oil sure enough it was being contaminated.

(*) Hydrolock is when water seeps into a cylinder while it sits over night. Water is non-compressible so even a palm full of water is enough to lock the engine up until enough gets forced past the rings, then it starts normally. If the offending cylinder happens to be on the compression stroke when you shut it off it can take several tries before the engine will turn over.
