Someone (thrash) might remember I once mentioned Todd Hoffman because my friend and boss was one of his friends and I got a call from Todd because I commented that he was mining the Discovery channel. I guess he got upset about that because he really wanted to prove himself as a gold miner. Well he dug up nearly $10,000,000 in gold during the shows run, what it cost to do that I have no clue, lucky to break even. LOL (but Todd kept ALL the gold)

Anyway this is entertainment so I thought I would post his newest endeavor here.

So, he found gold?
I seem to remember it was a "new show" back when you initially mentioned it ...

Yes it was pretty new back then but ran for 7 or 8 seasons. Yeah he got pretty good at it but only found modest amounts at a time. But shit he moved his operation so many times. He mined at several different sites in Alaska, mined down in Guyana for gold and jewels(bust), mined a couple spots in Oregon then moved again to Colorado. All that moving around and operating costs had to eat up any potential profits.   

But what do you think of his singing?

Yeah, well, advertisers take up some of that slack ...
But, I can't imagine it breaking even ....

I've always like that song, and I like his version ...

Advertising pays the Discovery Channel, then they pay Tood and the crew. So the entire operation was funded by them and everyone got paid. But the gold ... hehehe

There are only a few spots that produce reliably. This was an exercise in futility. Required a lot of labor, but it worked out well for the cast members, because of the show.

Even the president of DeBeers Diamond Mines/Sales says they are "intrinsically worthless" ...
