Title: The Lottery In America
Post by: Tru on October 18, 2018, 09:37:20 PM
Cool.

The Ca Lottery is at 900m this week. The ex had me buy a couple plays for her, think she will share? Hahahahaha

They make that shit so fucking confusing to distract from the fact your chances of winning anything is over 350,000,000 to one.

I can't call this Super Lotto, I call it sucker lotto.
It was supposed to support the schools but has been so corrupted since it was installed it's nothing more than another scam to loot the public.

Everything here in the USA, if there's money involved in any way, is corrupt ...

Still, when it's over the $750m mark I always buy a couple of tickets if I have a few bucks on hand ...

Interesting thing about the lottery in the US: the Quakers in PA refused to fund military action, so the state would be cut off at the knees when it tried to raise taxes to fund guns. So PA used the lottery to fund all of the things the Quakers didn't like.

In Maryland, lottery revenues are used in part as handouts to the NFL and MLB teams in Baltimore. Easier to fund revenue sinks like stadiums if you disguise where the money is going and where it's coming from.

That is interesting, but not surprising.

Hey without stadiums how could they charge people $100s of dollars per ticket to watch scripted bullshit?

Hmmm ...

And when I was hanging with Mosh this past week, he said that they don't tax lottery winnings in Oz ...
If the pot is $400m, you get $400m ....
