hpv gives ladies cervical cancer and condoms don't do much to prevent transmission of that.

I don't believe the efficacy of Gardasil at preventing cancer has been verified.
There are now quite a number of manufactured viruses that can cause cancer.

It's designed for HPV. The cancer part is a bonus. HPV causes more problems than just cancer. Just going off what the people who made it said when the news broke here about it, the cancer part wasent even brought up till awhile after.

The only other problems HPV causes are warts that need to be burned (or frozen) off, and that's only if your immune system allows them to develop. I'd say that's pretty minor compared to cancer.

The purpose of the vaccine is to stop the spread of a virus which (in some cases) causes cancer.
This is the same as a flu vaccine, or a smallpox vaccine; those don't prevent death, they prevent a virus which (in some cases) causes death.
In other words, taking Guardasil does not prevent the patient from getting cervical cancer. It merely prevents the patient from getting HPV.

Umm yeah they pretty much DO make that claim in their advertisements. Then offer a short disclaimer at the end.

So basically what you guys are saying is why bother getting Gardisil, and why bother using condoms because you can STILL GET CANCER?
FYI- I was never implying that a person wouldn't get cancer if they took advantage of these things. However, they can reduce their chances of getting cancer if they use these things. To what percentage I have no idea.
I know how about no one ever has sex instead? Then Farrah Fawcet wouldn't have ass cancer!
