Title: MAME
Post by: mosh on April 11, 2009, 05:42:51 PM
I love MAME, the Multi Arcade Machine Emulator.

Been playing some stuff I remember from a 100 years ago... like the Legend of Kage, Amidar, Burnin Rubber, Galaga, Karate Champ, Qix, Circus Charlie...

I also found some other games that I haddnt played before, but like very much for their easter eggs. Like Fantasia (even though the girls in it make me feel like a pedo), or New Fanastia.

I'm currently d/ling 17gb of arcade games. This should be interesting to see what appears inside.

I was playing Bubble Bobble last night.

Never was a fan of Bomb Jack. I preferred Pang!

I have NO idea how much weight one of those old games is, okay, i have a ruff idea. But 17gig worth. fuck.

Yeah MAME is killer. I had a sweet version rigged up on my computer before it died and I lost everything. Boo.

I've heard of it but never used it.  There are a couple of old arcades I'd like to look up and play again from back in the day...

Actually, no. I had MESS which is based off MAME. MAME is distinctly sweet, but MESS is a total multisystem allowing emulation of so many systems it's ridiculous. Look into that, Phaed.

we have NESter which is pretty cool. i don't often get a hankering to play many original NES games but the urge does strike on occasion.

buddy of mine rigged an original street fighter 2 cabinet with a MAME box.  It was totally outstanding.

I have a cabinet, but I'd rather buy original JAMMA boards for it.

Looking for a Japanese version of Karnov at the moment.

Oh man! Karnov is one of the best things to have ever come out of Data East. I love that company so much. Karnov rules!

Its a game I've never finished... I can get to the last level, but this PC just isnt set up for the mayhem.

So I look for a board for my cabinet, and when I get one, it's on!

I would never have enough motivation to restore a box with the same hardware it used to have, I would have to throw a new MB in that bitch and run an emulator on it.

See, thats the thing, the hardware is all in place, just need to change the board and set the dip switches.
