Title: A couple of interesting browser secrets ...
Post by: Thrash on November 20, 2020, 09:06:52 PM
Don’t use Ctrl+Alt+Del!
Use control+shift+escape instead! It goes directly to the task manager!

Open a Browser Notepad!
Need a notepad in Chrome or Firefox?
Code: [Select]
data:text/HTML,%20<html%20contenteditable>Copy and paste this into the address bar. You’ll open a new tab that you can write in. You can even save it.

A site that has right-click disabled? and you can’t steal stuff?
You have a major project to submit tomorrow and you finally found the site you dreamed of! But It has it’s right-click disabled and you can’t copy stuff from there? Don’t you worry child!
Code: [Select]
javascript:void(document.oncontextmenu=null)Putting the following into a favorite/shortcut on the toolbar re-enables browser right click.

A simple way to clear your cache?
CTRL+SHIFT+R = Clear cache and refresh the page. Child’s play! Isn’t it?

I'll add more later ...

Hey thanks. My browser froze up recently and I had no mouse control and Ctrl-Alt-Del didn't work. Had to do a hard restart. However I'm not sure this would have worked either, a little bit later I got a Driver IRQL not less or equal bsod. So it probably wasn't FF's fault Hope I can remember that task manager short.

Haha I have a Java script disable toggle extension. I've used it on sites like the Washington Post recently when they pop up that blocking notice saying you must register to read this article.

You should prolly just uninstall your "HID Device" mouse and restart the PC ...
You prolly have a bad MS updated mouse driver that's fucking it all up ...
It'll restore the last working one previous and keep it there ... Should solve that issue ....

That's a little possible, could also be a memory error. I have windows set to run it's diagnostic utility when I restart it later.

Let me know what it says ....
If it's a bad driver that MicroSquish deems should be there, it won't spark an error ...

Oops, meant to do the restart last night but crashed out and forgot about it.
No problems today though.

Yeah I thought about that, lots of "updates" been going around.
Still won't hurt to run it.

No, not at all ...
But maybe also run one that's not MS after ...

The built in MS test was negative for errors, I just ran MemTest64 and let it loop 10 or 15 times, all results were zero errors.

I should find some diagnostics tools for the GPU.

Wait were you talking about the Tech Talk site or your old board?
For some reason I couldn't find a link to the old TSi site.

Okay that was weird, I put the URL in the address bar and it didn't work, so I went to Google thinking I would find a page of related info< but instead it immediately opened your page>

Anyway my old login still works and I'm currently signed in, so I'll look around.

Well if you wanted me to see it you would have done it already.

Anyway, I don't see anything remotely called The Den.
Though the Technical Central forum was interesting.

WareWolf's Den ...
It's in the Member Run Forums ...

I added you ....
For some reason I'd never given you the "DEN" tag when I gave you the "LG" tag, so you never got the Den upgrade ....

Sorry about that ....

You should be good to go now ....
