I like the Lacuna Coil one a lot.

They probably had this list ready to go right as Ghost was putting out their best cover song:

There's been a lot over the years ....
Surprising a lot ...

Metal bands doing old 70's folk, and other crossovers that have been quite impressive, actually ...
(Summer Breeze, The Sound Of Silence, In Flames version of Eye Of The Beholder, 80's covers "metal"'ed up ...)

It's good to see cross-polination/respect on all fronts ....

I like the interpretations of different music by other genres ....

Yeah, I dig the cross pollination too.

It's usually fun to hear a different spin on a song. The ones I tend not to like are ones that are more straight covers and don't add to the original.

Unless, of course, I'm listening to a band that is known for straight covers at a bar or something, then that's still fun too.

No, I agree ....
Same theory applies ....

Even something as eclectic as a country/disco mix I heard once for "Nothing Else Matters" ....
(The tempo changes made it quite a little ride, but very well done) ...

And, yes, a "cover band" is good, but I like when they throw SOMETHING in to make it their own, you know?
