Title: practicing? who does that anymore?
Post by: The Geek on April 17, 2009, 09:56:16 AM: Rather than practice for that concert tonight, I'd like to talk about radio songs that you would rather jam a fork into your ear than hear ever again? They might be good songs, but the radio industry completely destroyed them. List them here!

and you're right about commercial radio and music. I just listen when Im in the car to pass the time and usually just throw on News radio or the classical station

I've been thinking, we must be getting close to a point where they'll need to spin up a new radio station, to allow the 90s/00s to branch off and stagnate.

I cant listen to anything other than RRR or PBS these days. JJJ annoys the hell out of me, since Kingsmill decided that JJJ should be more like MMM in format.

(because I spend a lot of time learning/practicing, etc tons of songs for my shows)

I think that was part of the underlying point, or at least where this would have gone if this were a "musician's" thread ....

Same. There's so much beauty in silence. Like right now, i'm sitting in silence. Beautiful.

I suppose this is a musician's thread since a musician started it - but it didn't stay that way as the average poster here has a real job unlike us.

The Scotish guy with the beard, the comedian. He does a good graveyard show on sat night (jjj) Its the only one i listen to.

I miss Stern and it's ALMOST enough to get me to renew my subscription to Sirius. If they had an Internet radio only option for something like $5-6 a month, I would do it.

So it's NPR and my iPod, which is an ecclectic mix of Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Elvis Costello and one hit wonders from the 60, 70s and 80s. Yes, that means Robert John, Aha and The Screaming Trees.
