WORLD RECORD GUITAR SPEED 2008 - Guinness World Records (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BynUZOJc8QI&feature=related#lq-lq2-hq)
-
that's super cool
-
Dude, I SHRED, HARDCORE .....
... however, admittedly, I'm not even a FRACTION of this dude's RAW speed
*sigh*
-
Meh, an exercise in futulity.
I wanna hear a machine play a guitar, I'll listen to a casio.
-
The Guinness speed records are done with a standard piece of music, play it over and over and you will get fast, maybe not freakish fast, but fast enough to youtube it.
-
Good point ...
-
This isn't really related but I don't want to start a new thread. Anybody listed to Gustavo Dal Farra? I think his stuff is top notch.

My friend Darek (in Ct) is the BEST pianist I've ever seen; she's shit compared to him ...
(I give her mad props though, it's a hard [and awesome] piece; he's just, uhm, AWESOME!)
-
Rachmaninoff is no joke!
That guy can play pretty fucking fast. At first I thought... meh. No big, but once it kept going 280... 300.... 320, that's pretty impressive on a guitar.
What's impressive to me is not his left hand, but his right. To keep it going at that speed and so controlled is amazing. The Left hand is a bit easier since it's moving around and the basic fingering of the flight of the bumble bee is 3-2-1 move up some. The guitar also has frets which makes it easier to train the muscle to remember where to go.
But that right hand... holy shit!
And for your viewing pleasure...

The mom kind of scares me, though...
-
I'd like to play it... as a TAN-GO!
-
Sneaky!
-
Aww... but he's so cute.

This was just fucking great!
Thanks for that share; it made my day!

Again, I can rip ass, but I can't touch that ...
Just to reiterate: Dave is totally humble. And awesome.
-
No, but I've practiced for YEARS ...
I'm saying I can't even come CLOSE ...

Just imagine what else he could do with that right hand ladies! Ever hear of that song "Flicking the Magic Bean"?
-
flicking = bad
-
I know all those Japanese celebrities. They're a bunch of idiots.
-
flicking = bad
What about "Gently Rubbing the Magic Bean, Starting Out Slowly and Steadily Increasing Speed until the Rubbing Gets Really Really Fast"?
-
you know that's the stuff.
are those the lyrics? very romantic.
-
Yeah, that's pretty much the whole song. I hear that dude's really good at it.
-
that's nice and straight of him to sing about clitoris stuff.
has he written any snowballing anthems? probably not, if he's straight.
-
No way dude, gay is the new straight!

What were they saying to him, to which he could only answer "yes"?
Also, I have this guitar:
Tiago della vega 18 years - acoustic guitar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMy0G9a-lMA&NR=1#lq-lq2-hq)
-
Isn't that an Ovation?
-
Yes, it's one of my pride and joys ....
heh ....
-
I just bought this one just about an hour or so ago ...
I walked in, saw it, and another Ibanez I almost bought as well, plugged it, rocked it, loved it, and bought it ...
Maybe I'll make a shredding vid for you ...
-
I think I wanna find a nice acoustic (or maybe semi-acoustic) bass to buy. Maybe five string? Any reason why this is a bad idea? Or any recommendations, anyone?
-
I had an Ibanez 7 string that was fucking perfect off the showroom floor. The action was just right and not a goddamn fret on the motherfucker buzzed. The thing was 900 bucks with the hard case and I bought it with a check from my e-trade account that never cleared. I went to the music store and they insisted that it was paid for, so somehow I got a free 900 dollar guitar that needed no adjustments.
After a few years I got kinda tired of playing chunka-chunk-chunk chunka-chunk-chunk by myself and traded it in for a 250 dollar amp.
I'm still kicking myself over that. Impulsiveness sucks ass.

Ovation makes some sweet ass guitars. I have a gorgeous Samick- Greg Bennett acoustic in pearl white.

Nice Ibanez! I almost bought one but I went for the B.C Rich.. I have a Warlock in black with the beast headstock..
-
I'm not a BC Rich fan; over YEARS I've been "hit-or-miss" on them ....
They are either really good, or suck balls ....
For a "cheap" ($179.99" backup guitar), it ROCKS ....
I used it "live" tonight, and shreded ass, and I don't regret buying it ...
It's one of the best deals I've EVER seen/played for a "back up" ....
-
Note here, I'm not gonna "edit" ....
I play a $1200 Ovation professionally for an acoustic, and a $900.00 Kramer ...
I also have TOP END Peavey EXP's ($500+ each) electrics, you can get the "base models" for #199.99" ....
I buy the best for what I'm doing, and I spend, as I do it for a living ...
My $199.99 Peavey EXP is a STAR in my show ...
It's all about what sound(s) I want "on the fly" .....
I LOVE my new Ibaneezs; for under $300, it's pretty versatile ....
I'm gonna buy the other one as well ....
-
Thrash is a gear slut.
-
Thing is, I HAVE to be ....
... (to a point)
-
Well, that's okay then.
-
Yeah, I actually make $$ at it, so I can spend the $$ for it ...

I can't believe I wrote all that and forgot to mention that I have a "base model" Peavey Predator EXP ...
Otherwise, that post makes little sense ...

I tried playing guitar last summer, but the muscles in my hands won't form to the fingerboard.
So I got an autoharp instead
-
Meh. Anyone can collect guitars. I collect pianos.
It's a bitch packing a Lester out for a gig...
-
I collect vengeful thoughts.
