Title: Travel plans, from the US
Post by: taiko on April 27, 2009, 11:46:35 PM
Eitje flies into Newark on the afternoon or evening of 10/30.
Eitje & Tricky (henceforth:  "US team") stay up all night, in an attempt to beat jetlag ahead of time.
US team board the plane to Japan on the morning of 10/31, and sleep.
US team arrive in Japan on 11/1, via Narita Terminal 1, proceed through customs, and then call Nick (henceforth:  "home team").
Mosh (henceforth:  "bogan team") and home team come to meet US team at airport.  [4/28 - US team would still like some printed directions into the city, in case of emergency.]
[4/28 - US team calls home team from our hotel.  Home team comes to find US team.]
Combined teams (henceforth:  "party team") proceed to acquire (by whatever means necessary) one or more cell phones.
All team members call each other, to ensure cell phone operations as well as exchange numbers.
Eitje calls his boss with the cell phone, to ensure its international operation.

*insert events of the next week (http://loaded-gun.com/index.php?topic=489.0)*

US team boards the plane from Japan on the afternon of 11/7.  US team arrives in Houston on 11/7.

Mosh will meet yous at the airport, mosh is good as his word. I'd prefer to be the Bogan team. I will even assist in the rental of your phone and validation of your JR rail passes.

And cabs are expensive and ought to be unnecessary. Believe me, the trains are very excellent. Just word me up as far as location of hotel is concerned (if we do not stay in the same place).

Depending on what time people arrive from where I will also come to the airport. If that wasn't complicated enough there are two different terminals (http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/guide/map/index.html) depending on your airline.

Lucas prefers American Airlines yeah? Anything but United?

Well, AA arrives at Narita Termina 2. My BA flight arrives Terminal 1.

I think he said he prefers Continental, but I'm not sure.

Someone suggested I get a CC with airlines miles rewards... I don't have one... any suggestions?

Tricky has a mind like a steel trap!

Continental is my preference.

Cool... Continental - Narita Terminal 1.

Just word me up as far as location of hotel is concerned (if we do not stay in the same place).
I think it will be August before hotels will start accepting reservations online.  So, we'll probably not know hotel info for sure until then.

Post by: mosh on April 28, 2009, 09:59:12 AM
yeah, Gracery isnt accepting reservations yet...

Fun fact, Nick and I both bought the Y1000 TV cards when we were in Sapporo. I watched porn with mine, he watched baseball. I think most hotels have these.

You're arriving at about the same time as the guys flying from the East Coast, so it might be a good idea to hang around the airport to meet up with them. I think they're getting in at around the same time.

Looks like we're all departing at the same time, so we can all head out to the airport together.
