I'd forgotten how gamey lamb tastes. A lamb burger and a lamb sausage with peppers and onions. Still burping the flavor...

Oh and I got to see an angora goat eat some girl's hair. Right off her head. Also baby alpacas have a sweet tooth for funnelcake and sound like the tortoise raping the shoe... ehhhhhhhn. Ehhhhhhhnnn...

Gamey ? wtf !

I cant argue with your take on it, but i've never heard of lamb described as gamey.

You've been asking for this old man... YOU LIE! You know you want the sheep sausage.

Forgot. Watched a shearing, two teenaged girls in contest. Ram got a scrote like a basketball. All I could think was "Why can I find a girl to do that for me?"

I've always heard lamb described as gamey. It's a much more distinct flavour than most other "normal" meats.
Title: Re: Nick, Ian and Brian
Post by: Zoomie on May 05, 2009, 06:51:25 PM
Yeah no wonder the Greeks pepper the shit out of it and then serve it with mint jelly.

I don't mind it once in a while but for real game meats I'll stick to rabbit and venison.

Lamb's one of my favourites. I love the flavour. But it's definitely gamey.

I made a lamb stew the other night with couscous. Good stuff.

I have eaten everything in Australia that can been run over or hit with a car or prop.

Lamb isnt anywhere near gamey to me.

Post by: underclass on May 05, 2009, 08:03:14 PM
It is gamey compared with corn-fed watery beef however.

Get a big hunk of it, cover it in garlic and soy for a couple of days, half roast the thing and BBQ the rest of the way. Your loved ones will thank you afterwards

I could have ordered tons of fresh lamb at the festival. Maybe this summer I'll get some at market.

I only get my beef from either my friends' families (most from East Texas have cows for slaughter) or from a 100% grass-fed ranch.

Because I didn't know you were local(?) and I really only went to see my sister Marry Littlegoat and chill with the artsy fartsy homies.

And see the cute baby alpacas. And watch teenaged 4H girls shave sheep balls. And eat lamb burgers.

If you are local and want to hit the festivals, here's  (http://www.marylandfaeriefestival.org/)another one. I'll be there next Saturday.

I'll probably check out Springfest (http://www.ococean.com/springfest.html) this weekend. I'll have to see what I'm up to the weekend of that Faeriefest...
