good luck with that. If you can get a degree on the cheap then you're doing well

I applied for FAFSA and I then looked into getting free money, which is what you should do.  So far I'll only have to pay back $1500 out of the $12,000 I've received.  I decided to go the cheap route which is junior college for my AS in Accounting/Business Admin., and then transfer to a four year university for the last two years.  I just got done with my finals today and I only have one more semester before I have my AS.  But the thing that bums me out is that in order to sit for the CPA exam I have to go to graduate school, which means I won't be done with school until I am 30/31.

I did computers - have hardly programmed since. 30 years is a long time in a field so pick carefully

I'm good at navigating computers.  It's innate, I've been using them pretty much since I could use my hands........I'm not sure which field I should pick.

You have some time.  The intoductory sequence to most computer related fields is the same, so that will give you some time to feel out IT degrees vs. computer programming degrees vs. other options.

i personally think computer programming takes a very logical mind to do effectively.  but i work with some graphics designer/web designer people that are just chock full of creativity and random energy.

But you just cant beat the experience of being a spectator there when the deed is done. The sights, sounds and most of all, smells.

Being camera man will be sufficient.

I dont know how it works out west but that doesn't work at a (good) east coast school. They almost never take the credits.
Im also not sure those exist here anymore anyway, or do they and I just dont see them?

It works for University of Texas, St. Edwards University, Texas State University, and a lot more schools.  I don't give a shit about going to a good east coast school because it's too expensive and in Texas the kind of job I want to work doesn't care where you finish school, just if you have a verifiable piece of paper saying that you sat for the cpa exam and passed.

I don't know about other states on the east coast, but Maryland has a pretty strong community college program and almost all major schools accept the credits (though they don't necessarily count one for one for the first two years).  I both attended and taught a class at one while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.  Some of the kids I taught ended up at top 10 engineering schools.  They also had a program that placed students in RPI on scholarship, which is usually in the top 25 rankings for several engineering disciplines.

Dylan just make sure that you get in touch with your school's financial aid office wherever you are going.  I'm sure they have someone.  Make sure you fill out the FAFSA and link it up with the school codes and all that shit.  It's a pain in the ass but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I hope so.  That would be awesome.  Especially if I was the reason, that dick TA flunked me so I turned to meth and then killed a hooker!

I guess it depends on area and institution? Many students try that here (Community College for two, then some other university for another two) only to find that they have to essentially start over.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen it happen - especially at Temple and Drexel. They have these "Transfer" programs, too. Total scam.

I know way too little about school.  It's all fucking Greek to me which is scary.

Area may well play a big role - how integrated the particular state's program is with its primary institutions.  Everything in Maryland basically flows out from the main campus of the University of Maryland.  The community colleges basically follow the exact same cirriculum as the University of Maryland, College Park for the first two years of their transfer programs.  The state universities are required to accept kids that get their associate's degrees.  And there was quite a bit of back and forth between the community college and UMCP while I was there - it seemed like UMCP might've been using the community college to work on develope some of their programs before they introduced them into the main program.  It seemed to be a pretty highly integrated system, so maybe that makes the community colleges here a bit more legitimate than they may be in some other places.

Discipline might be a big deal, too.  My art school friends are way more concerned about who they studied with than anyone I have ever met in science or engineering.  Maybe there's a difference between programs where the pedigree of instructors are important vs. programs where there's just a toolbox of skills with which you have to be competent.  And maybe there's a difference between programs where schools are desperate for American students, like math or science, and other programs where there isn't as much demand for students.
