Someone sent me an email about 80's stuff today and I remembered how much time I spent watching these two shows. How did you spend your formative years before you all started taking drugs at age 12?
Duck Tales (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34Sb0hGUNIQ&feature=related#lq-lq2-hq)
Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers Intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2e5q6ubDlZE&feature=related#lq-lq2-hq)
-
Watching Speed Racer, Batfink & Karate, the Thunderbirds, Dr Who, any number of Hanna-Barbera cartoons...
And playing lots of video games.

Danger Mouse- Tampering with Time Tickles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnx9K0wXuQU#noexternalembed-lq-lq2-hq)

Battle of the planets ( G-Force)
It's late 70s stuff. I only saw it in the early 80s.
A CGI film based on the franchise iis slated for a 2010 release.

I watched duck tales and rescue rangers. I even had the NES video games.
-
Thundarr the Fucking Barbarian.
-
Not too surprisingly, I watched a lot of the same stuff as Nick.
Also, GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, Thundercats, M*A*S*K, Pole Position, TMNT (TMHT in England), and a shitload more.
-
I love how the British censors made them change the name of TMNT... talk about stupid.
Like kids dont know turtles arent really ninja's.
Thundarr the Fucking Barbarian.
Is that an R.Crumb cartoon, like Fritz the Cat?
-
I always thought they changed "Ninja" because of the violent connotations it purveyed.
-
Everyone here knows it by the usual Ninja turtles. I think if you said Hero Turtles they'd think you're crazy.
-
Not back in the late 80's!
And they did change it because they thought it would promote violence. Nevermind that when the Ninja Turtles craze first hit there was a huge boom of kids taking karate and judo and stuff. Yeah sure, we had no idea there was any connection between these kickass turtles and japanese martial arts. Right.
Of course, it worked for me. I was half American and visited the States fairly regularly, so I'd come home with the latest TMNT toys and shirts and shit that said NINJA not HERO. I was the man.
-
I was half American
how much did that surgery cost ?
-
Just an extra birth certificate.
-
man, TMNT was the best.

I have this. I bought it after reading a brief blog that was completely unrelated, but made me wonder if such a thing existed. There was one, on ebay, for $20.
Should I bring it to Japan, so that we can make ninja animals and pretend to fight crime?!?!?!

*Sad trombone*
PRO TIP: Don't take a girl to see Fritz the Cat as a blind date.
-
The April O'Neill character from the first TMNT cartoon series had huge tits. I never saw a cartoon character make a jumpsuit look so good.
-
Wasn't it yellow? Either way, April O'Neill's tits FTW.
-
My memeory is fuckered... I remember it as grey... but it probably was yellow.
Fuck it, I'm gonna go download some episodes...
