Title: Inglorious Basterds
Post by: Zoomie on May 31, 2009, 01:09:30 PM
I get all worked up about this film, having heard about it on every radio program reporting out of Cannes, and apparently I missed the part where it isn't being released until...

...August 20th???

My first evening free since March. So I settled for a NY Strip and a  Caesar salad at DuClaw last night.

Fuck you, Tarantino. This better be as good as they're saying...

between now and then you'll be able to download enough 5 minute sneak previews to avoid seeing the actual movie

And its Tarantino.

C'mon seriously, the only decent thing he ever made was when he had no money. Sure, Pulp Fiction is watchable, but since then its been a Wesley Willis hellride all the way to the bottom.

It'll likely be crap, like Kill Bill.

Blasphemer!  Death Proof was amazing.

I'm generally a big Tarantino fan, but I will admit that the Grindhouse shit wasn't that great, and Kill Bill seemed a lot cooler when it came out than it does now. Also, Kill Bill 2 was a real letdown. The bit he did in Sin City was wicked, though. And he's done some writing collaborations that were cool, like From Dusk Till Dawn and Natural Born Killers.

But I can't think of anything he's done really recently that was that good.
