Title: BLACK FRANCIS

saw frank black last night at a spot down here called the beachcomber. lots of late thirties folks. he played a few pixies songs, thank god. he is such a weird,  strangely effeminate fat white guy. his appearance and cadence always throws me. not a huge fan of his solo stuff, but the pixies songs were great.

I downloaded all of his solo albums (at the time) a couple of years ago.  He puts out those sorts of albums that you start to pick out things you like after listening to it in the car for a few days non-stop.  At first, I didn't really like his solo albums at all.

I saw the pixies a several years ago.  I haven't listened to them since.  It sort of put a cap on the period of my life that I was into them.

Bob Mould's stuff post Husker Du has been good... I liked his Sugar stuff...

I never really bothered listening to Frank Black... what I heard was over the top bleating about Catholisism.

I didnt consider the Sugar stuff to be solo.....Beaster is still one of my top 10 eps.

yes! it freaked me out when i few times i heard things like "god watches" or "god loves us" in the lyrics. i don't appreciate that shit, especially at a show.
