I'm sure some of you have heard about the Pink Pistols organization.
http://www.pinkpistols.orgThe mantra for the organization is "pick on someone your own caliber." This gives the gun control argument a new dynamic.
I have only heard about this group vicariously through news reports. According to the credo on their website, they "no longer believe it is the right of those who hate and fear gay, lesbian, bi, trans, or polyamorous persons to use us as targets for their rage. Self-defense is our RIGHT." For this matter, why is it NPR is the only news organization covering this phenomenon?
There is a logic behind their intent. When you think about people that are targeted by vicious attacks in American society, LGBT members take a good slice out of the pie graph. For this reason, I think it is perfectly acceptable to arm people that are under constant threat of violence.
