Shit man, I had been wondering why I hadn't heard from my NP in a couple of months, We got along great together and I really liked her. Yesterday when I went in to meet the new nurse they had assigned to me I found out why. She, her husband and three step daughters were all part of the list of victims (34) of a boat fire.

 Fernisa Sison, 57, was my cardiac NP at Kaiser.
I think I was the last patient she saw. She mentioned she was going on a diving trip and I thought that would be cool. I jokingly told her not to drown. We laughed and she gave me a big hug which I returned. 

They think the fire was started by electronics, there was only one place on the boat suitable for charging cell phones, laptops and cameras. There was also only one narrow steep set of stairs down to the sleeping quarters, but they think all the victims died from smoke inhalation. Only the crew survived because they were above deck. It was 3:15 am and they were all sleeping.

His first wife and daughter were held, beaten, and then set on fire during a robbery attempt gone wrong ...
The robbers were so wanting to escape quickly, and with no evidence (they panicked when they heard sirens) that
they doused the house quickly and lit it ... This was after binding and beating the girls into giving them ATM pins and other info ...

He was a truck driver and away for a week on a trip ...

(Personally, I think he has a touch of Asperger's, but I'm sure this didn't help)

I was doing a search on google last night to try and see if any charges had been brought and I noticed her twin sister died dec 1 of 2018. No info on why.
