OUCH!  That sux, and i've been there, dude.

i graduated, by GED, when i was 13, but 'cuz my dad was in the military, i had to go with them, until i reached my majority ~ a little more of my dad's "control" of me.

i'm glad, though.  Those were the years i spent in Japan, and i loved it!

Anyway, back to the disowning ~ that's why he's so angry with me, right now.  i had it all, and should have been able to do it.  My money for higher education was yanked out from under me, by him, in favor of my brother, who never even qualified for college.

i was to "make it on my own," since i was as "smart" as i was, and a woman, because women are expendable baby machines, UNLESS they "prove" themselves.  Every bit of higher education i have, i got on scholarships and student loans.

Anyway, with an IQ higher than Einstein's, he expected me to make a difference ~ that HE could see, i guess, in the material world.  i couldn't do it.  i didn't care about money, i got scared, and i hid behind my glasses and drugs, and, to a certain extent, just closed myself off.  And that, in his estimation, was unsatisfactory.

Maybe he just wanted his name out there, as the maker of something important ~ he's in Who's Who, for his own accomplishments, but he isn't as smart as i am, and can't ... invent stuff, nor think in abstracts the way i can.  Whatever.

Just the coke was enough to make them rethink the whole "You're-My-Son-the-Product-of-My-Loins" thang?  Surely they knew there was more to you than just that...
